In recent months, Senator Tommy Tuberville, a former Auburn head coach, has told a story to Auburn supporters that he had tried to convince Freeze to go after New Mexico State transfer Diego Pavia instead of keeping Thorne.

CBS Sports article.....LONG

Parvia probably would have been ruined.

Yes, smart decision to not come here on Pavia's part. Of course, Tubs had the ability to ruin QBs as well.

He would have been playing in an offensive system in which he couldn't flourish. I think he would have butted heads with Hugh.

We are skull dragging Pavia this week.

Pavia could have worked but do you think Freeze would allow Pavia to be the QB he could be? Freeze did a good job of stunting growth and stymieing confidence.

Will Redmond also tried to talk Freeze out of signing Arnold

From my understanding, Austin didn't want JA either. That was Freeze's pick. How much money did we waste?

Austin did however hand pick Thorne, so screw him too.

There was so much dysfunction coming out of the offensive side. I can't blame Thorne for much of that. Hugh supposedly wasn't in the offensive meetings & would then insert himself in calling plays that weren't practice that week.

Either way. Doesn't matter. We are moving on to a new coach & staff so hopefully the new staff will concentrate on ball instead of playing golf every week (unless they are winning then no one cares).

Thorne looks like Johnny Unitas compared to Jackson.
