They are favored to win the SWAC and make their first trip to the NCAA tourney this year.

And then lose by 70 in the first round to a 1 seed.

Yeah, we're not 1 seed, so we didn't beat them by 70.. so it all worked out.

Bethune spent on NIL, absolute sleepers this year.

Do these dynastic takeovers ever work out? And why does this only seem to happen in basketball? Who was the last famous HC's son to get a prime coaching gig anywhere in college football?

This Auburn team is young, and with one returning player from last season’s team, there are going to be some growing pains.
Auburn played sloppy. Shot selection was bad at times. Free throw shooting started out atrocious… 8-18.
However, the free throw shooting improved in the second half as Auburn shot 19 for 20 down the stretch. Auburn out-rebounded Bethune 40-33… including doubling them up on the offensive glass. Auburn also had fewer turnovers.
Bottom line is Bethune kept the game close because they couldn’t miss. They shot 12-22 from 3-point (55%), including several absolute bombs from way beyond the arc.
I’ll be interested to see how this Bethune Cookman team plays the rest of the way, because they looked like a far better team than the Memphis squad Auburn destroyed in exhibition play last week.

Um, I'm not the coach. I wasn't even there for the game last night...
