Lou Holtz was good at winning at Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame and South Carolina but he petered out after a few years. I don’t know of anyone like that around right now. We’ll take what we can get I reckon.

Jeff Monken has won everywhere he's been, he makes 2.3 mil per and has a buyout of 7 mil +/-.

But he wouldn't go over well because his triple option offense would fit the majority of the HS players in the state and is some how seen as archaic when compared to the Gus single wing offense.

I'll take Monken and a big NIL. I think we have to be different than everyone else to win. Everything goes in cycles. Would at least be fun to watch.

I might catch shite for this but I think Fleck would be a solid hire, could get him cheaper and he’s high energy and shown he can rebuild.

Please no on Fleck. As shitty as I feel and as down as I am....there is absolutely no reason we can't do better than Fleck.

You’re probably right but I’m a sucker for a younger high energy guy who builds.

There is a ceiling to a pure under the center flexbone offense. Monken, however, is not shy about going out of the pistol or shotgun.

The problem with the bone (a pure specialty offense) is that it will have the the same problems Leach's offenses had... you are going to have some games where nothing works and you lose to teams you are vastly better than.

The benefit of the bone (and Leach's Air Raid) is that you will, from time to time, have games where everything works and you whoop teams that are better than you.

Monken doesn't have any experience with NIL (other than having to watch as teams raid Army) and military academy recruiting is way different than the rest of college. Army, hypothetically, could sign a hundred kids in one class because they are going in under a military scholarship not athletic.

NO to the flexbone. one dimensional in the SEC is a recipe for a quick death.

You get behind early and you are done.
