I'm heading to Columbia next week, and a couple of days ago, I was checking out what was available on SeatGeek, and this is what I found:

SeatGeek

I was floored by the number of available seats. Does the Missouri AD use some kind of dynamic pricing scheme to fill seats at the last minute? The times I've watched your games, you don't seem to have any problem filling seats, but I can't square that with this seat availability map.

Im not sure exactly how it works, but I wonder if a lot of people are trying to resell their ticket since we're on our 3rd string QB? It is a sellout.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Chance to take down a top 3 team at home, still (barely) in playoff convo, and starting a highly touted freshman QB

Shouldn’t be hard for fans to get excited for that

I've said it before on here, but home games this time of year have always been a tough draw due to deer season.

I'm not joking. Missouri has a great deer season and some of the best public land deer hunting in the country.

It's a hard sell to get guys to give up a weekend in the middle of the rut. It's always been that way in Missouri.

Those tickets have already been sold by the AD. Do you understand that SeatGeek is a "secondary" market?

From Google:

quote:

SeatGeek functions as both a primary ticketing platform for many teams and venues and a secondary marketplace where you can resell tickets. When buying tickets through SeatGeek, you might be purchasing directly from the venue or artist (primary) or from another fan who is reselling their tickets (secondary). The company uses technology to manage both primary ticket sales, handling face value sales for its partners, and the resale market on its own platform

If you'll look at the seat map right now, every seat on rows 62-73 of Section 121 (press box side, 50 yard line) is available on SeatGeek. That's not guys going deer hunting.

It's been a topic literally every year at this time that deer season has an effect on attendance. How much it slows ticket sales can be debated but it's part of it for sure.

TicketMaster is Mizzou's primary ticketing platform. Any ticket you see on seatgeek is someone just trying to make a dime. It is like that every game yet every seat gets filled come kickoff.

If I recall - section 121 is a lot of corporate tickets....MU Health, VU, sponsors in the area get a bulk of those tickets....a lot of times folks get them free from work and then sell em off...

edit - my bad - it's 117ish.... don't know...cheapest ticket at around 116....

That would be an interesting change. I think vandy is the only SEC school to bring less fans to CoMO than a&m on your previous visits. The influx of outside cash would be greatly appreciated.

Deer season is huge in MO. I'm thrilled this is a bye week and have been out bow hunting every evening and will be out all weekend.

Meh. We just play golf and go to a grocery store like normal people. But you’ll do you. We will take your tickets.
