What do we do? Is Hulu the way?

Look into the VSee box. You can get any game or movie and you only pay for the box once. No monthly fees or subscriptions. I had mine for over a year and can watch any sports event, even the PPV's are free.

My leaning is towards canceling all streaming and go back to pirating this shite

Yeah I mean I signed up for YouTube like 5 years ago and the rate has nearly doubled in that time. Streaming has just turned into cable, but with the benefit of no contracts. It's still a scam though. The shareholder driven unlimited growth business model fricks up literally every single thing it touches. Every. Single. One.

ESPN Ultimate is like $30 but I don’t want to completely cave to the bullying scheme they pulled on YTTV
For tomorrow apparently I can get a SlingTV day pass for $5.
I hate the direction that things are going because CFB and CBB are 95% of the tv I watch

As I've gotten older, I've come to realize that if you go by the technical definition of capitalism then I'm probably anti-capitalist but still pro-commerce. Especially with bad case law like Dodge v. Ford Motor Co. making it impossible for companies to ever really prioritize longterm sustainability because shareholder supremacy leads to this self-emaciating drive for quarterly profits.
There is a reason every McDonalds you walk into is apt to have poor service but every Chickfila is precisely the opposite. One is publicly held and the other is privately held. CFA can make decisions that are better for the business. McDonalds has to make their decisions framed around what is better for their shareholder's return on investment. Those two things are not always in alignment. This modern arrangement has become almost like a parody of the mismanagement of communist countries.

I've offered before, but I know a marketplace where you can subscribe to different IPTV services for like $4/month or less. But it does take some basic technological inclination set it up.
I have YouTube TV but I signed up with 2 iptvs just to frick around with them(Strong 8k and TRex). Both are good, but after a month I like Strong better. But both have about 45k channels from all over the world, plus tens of thousands of on demand movies and TV shows. You just gotta install a IPTV player and set it up yourself. But it's got every ppv sports package in the world in smooth running hd feeds.
The marketplace charges a fee, that varies depending on form. If you use bit coin, it's like 2%. The easiest are some giftcards the sell at Dollar general. But they wanted 17%, and I didn't want to leave the house at the time. To use a regular credit card was like 3%, but wanted me to link up with some random bank and provide ID, so frick that. I know of 2 places, n2u or g2g. I have only used n2u. With this setup, is good to stay as anonymous as possible.
You can find an IPTV player on any device or smart tv app store. But they are definitely not created equal. I use tivimate, though I paid a few bucks for a lifetime subscription. Iptv Smarters is also good. Some are straight up terrible or don't actually work. Google best IPTV player for "whatever device you are running it on".
Now, if y'all are on an Android TV/Google TV device or smart tv, I know multiple free apps you can use. One of them has Google TV app and an android phone/Android tablet app, or you just go to their website. But the TV app is the smoothest. It's from the website rbtv. But they keep changing their name and web address. Now it's called www.fctv33.lat. You'll want to use an ad blocker, like with all streaming sites. The apps even have a modded version where the ads and bullshite are removed. But that's getting into a more technical procedure. But they're available on mobilism.org.
I'll probably anyways use this rbtv app, because it literally has feeds from every league. It's kinda cool to be able to watch Australian or Japanese league basketball while drunk at 3 am.
There's one more I have that works great, but can't remember the name. But I'll post it when I get home and can check the names.
If you don't have an android TV or Google TV streaming device, your doing yourself a disservice. Smart Tvs are slow and don't with well with 4k streams. The cheap Onn devices from Walmart are way better than 95% of the devices on the market (I recommend the 4k Pro for $45). I personally use an Nvidia shield, and it was worth every penny. My device was released in 2015, and the only better device is the 2019 Nvidia Shield. Do not buy fire sticks or a Roku. If you're willing to pay the cost for an Apple TV (which actually is solid hardware), get a Shield instead. Don't buy any external streaming device that's not Android, because you're only crippling your ability to watch or install anything. And don't get me started on the bloatware.

For those of us who don't really want to fool around with techie devices or newish technology, and who want to have unlimited DVR ("record all Alabama football/ basketball games" and walk away), what is the best option?
Seems like FUBO is about the same price as YouTube TV, with unlimited DVR. I've never used it...any downsides, other than cost?
I did look briefly at the VSee box, but I don't think DVR is a thing for that.

So, this looks like a good streaming device running Android 14. It looks like a solid option for people who are bad with technology. I'm guessing it has an IPTV service or apps or pre installed for streaming. I'd love to see the home screen, because I'm curious which apps they're using.
For it to work for a year without touching it or doing any updates, is pretty impressive. Though maybe they're pushing them through. That would mean they're trying to keep customers happy, and aren't just a fly by night operation, where someone who can't do shite is screwed 2 months later when things start getting buggy.
But learning how to sideload (kind of a backdoor installation without the app store) is a good thing to know. shite is constantly changing it shutting down.
I personally like Stremio with real debrid for TV and my movies.

Found this in Reddit about the vesee box...
So if it stops working and they ask for more money (if they have set you up with an IPTV account, you only buy them in 1-12 month subscriptions, so they will eventually ask or it'll just stop working), don't give them anything.
You could honestly get this setup for about $100 and 30 minutes of setup instead of $350 and an uncertain source.
LINK
Edit: Apparently the veesee uses an app called Heatlive. Basically, they're selling a $30-50 box for 350. When I'm home, I'm gonna try to find a apk file for it, and try to install it on my shield. I'm curious about the quality of the streams, because the free ones can be good hd feeds

They are a scam… my mom got herself into this stuff while I was on tour.. they work for a little while then asked for more money then steal card information and get into every account you could have put onto the thing…

It's insane that YouTube TV's answer to this was to offer a $20 credit. They're valuing the channels they lost at less than a dollar per channel, when any analyst could tell you these are the most important channels. Live sports are the only reason anyone has any TV service and they've lost most of them, retaining only the sports on NBC, CBS, and Fox, which can legally be accessed for free. Without live sports any TV service is basically worthless, because all other content doesn't need to be seen live and is posted for free either next day or a week later. I imagine they're hemorrhaging subscribers right now.

My only issue with using YouTube is ads in the middle of plays, and the feeds can disappear at anytime. Quality also varies tremendously. It does usually work, but I've also had my feed disappear 2 minutes before the Bama Purdue basketball game ended (though it was pretty much decided and I think the streamer rage quit once Purdue put the nail in the coffin).

That's what happened last weekend when we were watching the game on YouTube while I was in Domanican Republican and I missed half of the plays.

Which is why Disney pulls the shut that they pull. They know they can get away with it, and it'll only hurt the cable company (which is what YouTube TV and Hulu have become, just a cat5 instead of a coax cable).

Yeah, the older you get and look at what actually happens in the real world instead of slogans, what gets described as "capitalism" is probably better described as "corporatism".
Anything that actually tries to promote a balanced, freer market where the little guys can compete and long term benefits/costs are weighed is met with a heavily financed campaign to label it "anti-capitalism".
