LINK: Dellenger article

quote:

Like any good Louisiana story, this one features all the hallmarks: deep political feuds, sneaky backroom deals, colorful and eccentric personalities, and unexplainable and all-together ridiculous public theatrics.

quote:

The drama greatly impacts the candidate pool for a job that, most experts contend, is the best open gig in all of college football. At a time when alignment and resourcing is at its most important, LSU, suddenly, seems to be problematic in both areas. “They are turning a top-three job into a s***show,” says one agent who represents football coaches. “Does the governor know how damaging this is to their search?” asked another.

quote:

Woodward avoids many public appearances or press availabilities. Like any good Louisiana politician, he’d prefer to keep things quiet, work in the shadows, possibly even operate in the backroom of a backroom in a certain Baton Rouge seafood house. Years ago, on a visit to that very restaurant, this writer was introduced to “the place where the real deals get done,” the owner told us, as he pushed open a trap door built into the wall of the eatery’s backroom, revealing beyond it a cove with a television, mini kitchen and — wouldn’t you know it — a card table.

It’s a circus. Probably a shite-show. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t entertained.

You can’t MAKE some of this shite up.

First I can temper my post by saying it’s just football and not a nuclear arms deal. But it’s amazing how many self inflicted errors have happened in this whole saga.

Woodward and the massive guarantee
Kelly not firing who Woodward wanted
The governor choppingnoff Woodwards legs
Kelly bringing suit.

It’s like a telenovela

I read it somewhere but now that I don’t see it here I wonder if it was a parody account.

Yeah it’s crazy how some people treat this like it’s life and death. I certainly don’t want LSU to suck at football, nor would any fan, but geez if someone can’t be entertained by this I don’t know what to tell ya.

The craziest thing to me is that if Kelly weren’t such a colossally large arrogant prick he’d still have his job.

That’s amazing to me given what has been said this week.

If you ever read anything about French culture (that is, in France), you'll find they are very complicated beings. They love freedom and socialism at the same time. And they love their drama.

Also, when things go sideways, they really go badly as in truly epic fashion. Consider the French Revolution. That was not just a coup, that was damn near a full blown apocalypse.

Louisianians are no different. They are after all, descended from the French though the French neither claim them nor French Canadians.

If you think life is complex, their lives and way of doing things are loads more complex.

"We are Greece. We are Paris. We are art. We are passion. We have ups and downs. And it happens. But the lows make you appreciate the highs."

My God, I do love them though

Scotty Dub is in trouble. As is the athletic department at LSU. Top jobs dont have this kind of dysfunction. Anyone who can't see it is simply deLSUional.

And to think, I have no doubt some of these decisions were made Saturday night by people who probably weren’t totally sober.

And more decisions on Sunday, by people likely nursing a hangover.

Oh, lord. You are one of those ignorant rednecks who think that modern day Louisiana is predominately Cajun.
