Why would anyone want to coach at LSU?

Besides some lower-tier coach trying to make a quick buck, why would any respectable coach want to be head coach at LSU?
LSU fired their last 3 coaches, even after 2 of them won national championships and the other had a respectable record. Not only that, LSU has proceeded to throw these coaches under the bus after they have departed (see comments about Kelly and Miles after they left) or had them involved in some controversy (Miles).
It's certainly a place where your career is meant to end. So why would you want to go there?
Forgot to mention that Saban ran away from there as well.

it's a festering swamp, literally and figuratively.

That's not the question asked in the topic. Please keep on subject and don't deflect.

If Woodward is making the hire? Early retirement with the buyout. Without him? It’s definitely a question with merit.

I’d do it. Free money to do shitty job and a golden parachute at the end.

There's probably no reason.
Florida fans shouldn't even think about it anymore.

It is interesting to see this play out.
So far, from an outsider's perspective, I've seen the following red flags for LSU's potential next hires:
1. A governor show direct involvement with the hire of a college football coach and even announcing limitations around who will be making the hire and contract guarantees (or the lack there of)
2. A coach with a guaranteed contract be fired and immediately negotiated down for less than half of their guaranteed buyout.
3. (And this isn't just LSU, it's a CFB trend) The lack of tolerance for a coach to have a 'rough' year. You either compete to win it all or you are relieved of your duties mid-season. Further exacerbated by the current higher expectations by the fans and administration at LSU.
It's a coveted job and these guys are getting paid millions upon millions to do it, but damn that's a rough slate of bullshite to deal with if you're looking to take the reigns as head coach at LSU. Compared to walking into a situation with potentially less obstacles at, say, Penn State or Florida.

Everything about the state and program has the savoriness of a paper mill.
