And all the comments hating on Shula were “All he does is run the ball up the middle”…..

Probably didn’t need its own thread but I thought it was funny

All they need is a running back named Darby.

Shula called the best game of his life Saturday. Unfortuantely for the Gamecock fans it won't happen again. I actually thought someone had abducted Shula and Spurrier was in there calling plays at one point.

South Carolina had 2 backbreaking turnovers - a pick 6 and a fumble w/ 2 minutes left in a tie game.

Shula is the scapegoat here. He may not have done a great job all year, but he wasn't the problem Saturday.

They got a TD off the botched punt return which should have been a penalty on them.

We also dropped an easy INT that a few plays later led to a FG for them.

Agree, I thought Shula did a great job of playcalling for a team with a high ceiling inaccurate QB, a bad OL and one fast WR.

Cant judge the rest of the season, but Shula was good yesterday IMO.

They lost because Sellers fumbled and we got a Pick 6. Thats it.

Leading up to this game they were holding protests to fire Shula. I think this game is going to be an anomoly for him because he had a personal and emotional investment in it. He'll more than likely return to his old self next game. The gamecock fans can't stand him (his playcalling that is).

Like I said, I have no idea if he's been running that midget back of theirs into the back of the center all year, I just know he had a solid day against us IMO and had better gameplan than I saw from most of the SEC this weekend.

Hell if Sellers was more accurate in the short passing game they could've done more, but he's basically Jalen Milroe from a read and react standpoint.

One read, usually either a cannon shot deep or an inaccurate short pass and if he doesn't like he just runs it.

Tons of raw talent, but damn if I'm not glad to be off that roller coaster of emotions and inconsistent outcomes.

Yeah, Sellers reminds me of a bigger version of Milroe. If had any intermediate passing skills he would have really torn us up.

I was asking if Shula had held onto these plays for 20 years until he got to play us.

This take kind of undermines how our defense played a part in making those things happen.

My post is in reference to Mike Shula calling a good game.

Shula didn’t throw the pick and he didn’t get stripped, those were SCe players not executing.

The defense won the game Saturday, make no mistake because the offense was as bad as it’s been since FSU from an efficiency standpoint.

We had drops, no run game and Ty was running for his life all afternoon.

We needed the defense to carry the team and they basically came up with 14 points.

Agree. It seems someone always steps up and makes a play when needed. This wk it was 0Lawson. He’s s not lived up to expectations, but that was a most needed play stripping the ball. Game winning play

Keith Brown and DJ Hall were pretty good receivers. Shula's offenses weren't that bad until he was playing a 2nd or 3rd string QB.

At times we had several walk-on's starting in several positions on defense.

When Croyle was healthy he won 10 games in 2005.

He had terrible injury luck on top of scholly reductions.

I think there was some stat his last year where we were the #1 offense in the SEC until we got into the red zone and then we were last in offfense. (I could be remembering that wrong)

I’ve been his biggest critic this year but it was easily his best game of the year even without the strip
