...totally screwed up CFB by firing winning coaches running solid programs.

If we thought coach's salaries and program budgets were crazy now, we're all about to have our minds blown!

News flash: sometimes you lose games. You don't have to tear everything down because of one loss to Aggie.

I don't. Depending. They gotta get rid of Woodward too before the next coaching hire. Simple as that.

Losing to Vandy was what got Kelly in preparation to be fired. A&M was his chance to save his job and he completely fell on his face.

Kelly and Franklin were both underachievers.

Kelly did a good turnaround for us given how empty the cupboards were after O fricked it all up. Year 4 though, the team should not be sliding backwards. Relatively veteran team, high paid coach assistants, massive portal haul. No excuses for this team being shite

Franklin likewise came into this season with big expectations. They spent a shitload of NIL retaining star players who could have gone into the NFL last year, and he proceeds to lose to UCLA and Northwestern

They will be fine coaches for a lower tier program, but they just arent good enough for the top of the sport.

Penn State fired a coach that went
11-2
10-3
13-3
In the 3 years previous. That will be hard to swallow for a coach considering.

Kelly - "Judge me on year 3"

Half way through year 4, no change = fired

Don’t blame Aggie. Blame the fan base that booed him loudly on national tv and walked out of the stadium at the end of the 3rd.

This isn’t about a bunch of college kids playing for a coach that makes the same as a history teacher - You want the big money? Produce or get lost.

I don’t disagree but in defense of those programs, both Kelly & Franklin are insufferable assholes who are miserable to work with/for — that shortens the leash substantially, you only put up with that if they’re winning at an elite level

Dan Mullen 34-15 at Florida fired after 4 seasons. Fired with 1 game to go in 2021 season.

Brian Kelly 34 14 at LSU fired before the end of 4 seasons (4 games to play).

Both had a SEC Championship game appearance, Mullen in 2020 lost to Bama, LSU in 2022 lost to UGA.

Seems very similar situations to me looking at the records.

It was the same for Kelly. The team just quit on them. Penn State stopped caring after Oregon beat them.

If your team quits on you, its over.

This. LSU was already on the trigger. The fact that Aggie nut-dragged on LSU was not a factor, all Aggie had to do was win.

I don’t expect you to be tuned in on all things LSU, but it’s much more than a loss to a top 5 team

It wasn’t that A&M won the game.

It’s that the 12th man owned Tiger Stadium.

Neither were solid. Pedo State has been a pretender forever. LSU was clearly crashing into the mountain
