Outside of the stadium Saturday afternoon. My 81 year old father asked me, what’s that smell? Me and my brother laughed and got him in the stadium.

That's definitely become a tailgate thing at some SEC schools. We were at the junction a few years back for an A&M game and the smell of weed was overwhelming. I have been told they put an end to that, but I have not been back since. LSU fans were complaining about it a few weeks ago.
Social acceptance for THC products has risen dramatically and they are legal in most states, but that doesn't mean I want to smell your skunky-arse dank at my tailgate.

This isn't something to celebrate. Now that we legalized weed we need to shame it out of public like we did cigarettes.

I don't smoke it and never really got into it but I've never minded the smell

You must be a special case my friend.

I use edibles on occasion. The only smell is when you open the container. Haven’t lit up a joint in a minute. Pretty much legal everywhere now but I don’t recommend anyone drive on this shite. Seen a lot of reports in the news of dumbasses driving while high.

Love the smell but in this day and age where in most states you can simply drive to a brick and mortar (or even order online) and take your pick of any assortment of edibles that will send you into the stratosphere, why run around smoking analogue with all of its health hazards?

Hate to be the one to break this to you, but your 81 year old father was at peak dope smoking age in the 60s and 70s when Marijuana use was prevalent across the US.
He may have just been messing with you boys.

It’s not as off putting as cigarettes. This is coming from a former chain smoker. Switched to vape then now zyn (best thing ever). I cannot stand the smell of cigarette. Don’t know I put up with the smell for 10 years.

It's just the morning smell of Nashville (and every other city)

Just discovered these a few months ago. Being a SRO, I can't just walk around campus with a huge wad of Cope in my lip and a spit cup. The Zyns take the edge off well enough to get me through the day.

Exactly. I’ve long thought marijuana should be legalized, but their should be nuisance fines for smoking in public due to the smell.

Hence all the ads for Willy's THC drink and that Harrelson's Own THC spray showing up on the streaming services during football games. (Are these ads showing up on non-streaming presentations of these games too?)

THC is severely less predictable when consumed through the digestive track. This can lead to very unpleasant experiences.
Even the same person in the span of a few days can have a 3x-4x different effective dosage from the same gummy. Smoking and vaping are very accurate.

I believe the streamers are tailoring ads that aren't national campaigns. I don't see those, but then see many for local healthcare providers and other businesses. In some cases, I don't even see an ad. Just an SEC Network logo and a timer that tells me how long I have to mix a drink and hit the head.

Your dad grew up in the late 60s and doesn't know the smell of weed? What is he, a monk?

That weed smell was coming from the aggy locker room. Don't put that stain on the tailgaters.

Funny thing.... Growing up going to OU games in the '60s and '70s when there was no such thing as tailgating...
One of my favorite memories was the smell of cigarette smoke in the crisp autumn air while walking from campus corner to the stadium... with all the scalpers holding up tickets in the air like a hand of cards.
Cannot handle cigarette smoke in close quarters though. And do not understand why anybody would want to smoke dope before a football game.
I guess if they want to order extra food at the concession stand...or they want to think that the game is funny... I get it. But otherwise. Nah.
