… don’t know if I like that if it’s true, I would rather the corn dog crew be down than up when they come to Tuscaloosa and they would probably get a boost from any change.

Yeah, you usually get some extra juice to an opponent when they’ve changed things up. I’d rather them be riding this out to the finish line with nobody in the building happy about being around one another.

Something is definitely happening. BR news CBS has said meeting are happening with Kelly about potential parting of ways. Their problem is they don’t have a university president. The governor doesn’t like the way Woodward spends money but if you don’t fire Woodward he makes the next hire as well or The BOT who serves under the governor makes the hire. Neither option is enviable

CBS said a meeting between Kelly and Woodward “didn’t go well” and Kelly left the building.

He really hasn’t done a lot with what he’s had to work with, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was fired. Even if it’s not this week, I feel fairly confident he will be assuming Bama beats them in 2 weeks.
If he is canned, they’ve got several highly rated big DT/DE commits I hope we can poach.

He probably burned a lot of bridges with his assistants showing his arse on the sideline last night. I posted last night, someone I believe on X said he looked like Hitler ranting about Steiner in “Downfall.”

Don't think they make a move to closer to the end of the season

Maybe so, but like I said there are media reports that a meeting between Kelly and the AD went very badly this afternoon and that Kelly split afterward. So something may have blown up.

From what I can gather, they got 10 million reasons to just wait until the start of December to fire him.

This season is toast might as well wait until, like you said, Dec.

That's pretty wild considering they save money by waiting a month. Seems knee jerk

Any recruits we might want to poach?

Damn couldn't they have waited? Any coach will be better than him. Not to mention the back up qb seems decent.

Please let him hang on till after our game. I want to him get fired after losing at Bama.

Soooo how bout them LSU recruits

Guess they figured to fire him before the bye week so the optics of the upcoming Bama game—win or lose—could have a little PR spin.

From Matt Moscona, the Finebaum of Baton Rouge:
A meeting is currently taking place with Gov. Landry, members of the Board of Supervisors and key boosters. AD Scott Woodward is not involved in this meeting.
Primary topics include Brian Kelly’s buyout and who would serve as interim head coach—likely Frank Wilson but some prefer a different option.
Several boosters have explained ways to structure the buyout, one saying it would be “no problem.” Kelly’s buyout would be mitigated by future employment, even a media job if he chose not to coach again.
Multiple sources confirmed to me today that Kelly rejected a settlement offer.
Buying out Kelly, his staff and hiring a new staff would likely cost north of $100M, hence the high-level conversations.
When Louisiana politics are involved, anything is possible.
My .02, last night pissed off the wrong people who wanted to pull the trigger right now, and the meeting between Kelly and Woodward was probably to see if Kelly would settle and that’s why it went so badly.
As noted in my OP, this development concerns me but we just need to go out and take care of business when they come to town and things will be OK.
