The search for a new coach is going to be tough sledding for these teams

The top coaches in the land seem to be Kirby, Day, DeBoer, Lanning, Cignetti, Elko, Kiffin, etc. Kiffin may entertain it, but none of those other guys are going to be leaving their spots. It's going to be another big risk going to the lower level ranks and getting a HC or nabbing an assistant somewhere. The coaching lineup looks weak after you get past those guys.

I don’t envy anyone going coach shopping this year.

I honestly think the best path forward for most teams is to not spend $10 mil a year on a coach. Instead, hire an up-and-comer for $5-6mil a year and dump the rest into NIL.
Bet on a good coach with great roster over a great coach with a good roster.

When has this ever stopped a team, pro or college in any sport from firing a loser and just gambling on a new one?

I like Lea at. Andy. He is 44 years old and will not stay at Vandy much longer. Saban was 48 when he came to LSU

Bingo! And even the coaches you listed above can easily hit the hot seat again. what if Kirby loses to Tech and to, say, Bama in the SEC championship? Three losses, and fans begin to wonder if he's lost the mojo. Ryan Day? Michigan in Ann Arbor looms, as does a probable matchup with IU. DeBoer has to go to Auburn where crazy things happen, and he could lose in Atlanta - out! Lane could lose in Starkville and Atlanta, so he would be eliminated from the playoff as well. There's only going to be one truly happy fanbase at the end of the year.

This is the worst crop of head coaches in college football I’ve seen since I started following the game 30 years ago.

If Vandy decides to keep him ..... they'll keep him. They've got the money and they're willing to spend more on NIL TPPs .... but a lot of what Vandy is benefiting from is Pavia, his talent and the fact that he's older than a number of NFL QBs.
I'm not sure Vandy can sustain ..... but they're going to try and they've got money.

all of the children’s hospitals in louisiana need to start hiding all their money immediately.
