We’ve not been bad. But just pretty solid for the most part. We’ve played some good defenses but we haven’t been able to score outside the 20s in most of these games for one reason or another. Would love to see them ball out the next 2 games against LSU and OU. Which still won’t be easy. I don’t think we’ve played a poor defense since ULM. I suppose UT fit the bill but they were so disruptive as well that I think it’s still not completely accurate

We can’t run the football for a variety of reasons and played a string of teams with disruptive fronts. That’s a bad recipe.

A bye week comes at the perfect time. Having a healthy Jam Miller might help the running game to some degree. But I’m afraid we are who we are at this point with regards to that.

It’s about turning the corner when you have an opponent down. Grubb seems to go somewhat conservative which hasn’t really worked 1 time. We always end up in a scrap.

It’s like we take our foot off the gas relax instead of absolutely burying an opponent when we have the chance

Agreed. We had chances to bury Missouri a couple of weeks ago and had chances at the end of the first half and beginning of the third quarter yesterday to blow the game open. DeBoer and Grubb seem to lack the killer instinct that you have to have in this conference. I’m thankful for the wins. But we have to improve if we want to accomplish something great this season.

unreal the number of 3 and outs from an offensive brain trust of Deboer and his OC. the worst was 2nd and one on the 45 and we have to punt

We are coming off the toughest five game stretch in the country and went undefeated. We’re beat to hell, this bye will be huge.

Plus LSU might be quitting and OU isn’t nearly as good as once thought now that they’ve hit the meat of their schedule.

Edit... I love grubb. He's good for us, but that doesn't mean we can't criticize.

Grubb play calling has gotten worse as the season has gone on. Some of those opening game drives in the early season were great. Steady progress, moved the chains, mixing it up and spreading it around. Now, it really seems like jam up the gut or throw deep. There's no creativity and a lot of repetitive stuff that isn't working..ie jam up the middle or the repeated deep balls. Where's the creativity in the run game? Where is the RB out of the back field? Where's the intermediate pass game? We were doing well attacking the middle of the field... Now it's deep ball city... Even in the face of heavy blitz we're getting slow developing pass plays and runs up the gut. We were successful using TE against SC... Keep it up. But no, jam up the middle or deep ball.

We need to realize that we are not a run first team. We aren't built to push people off the line like that.

It’s almost like he got fired from Seattle for some reason.

It’s impossible for some people to be happy.

Grubb is the best OC we’ve had since Sark.

I think we're happy...but he isn't above criticism. I guarantee you he's doing the same to himself today. That's how we improve... Looking at what we do good and what we need to improve on.
