Texas Monthly is a liberal tsip rag that hates A&M. This has about as much credibility as MSNBC talking about a Trump scandal.

As a student, I worked both on Cut and on Stack, and I had never heard of this alleged "tradition" until Texas Monthly printed its story.
Let's just say that I am ... a bit skeptical as to the origins of the story.

I graduated in the '90s and was in the Corps. My Dad graduated in the '50s and was a Yell Leader. It's a BS story written by a sip magazine that basically said they heard about it from someone. No one who actually goes to A&M knows anything about it but they did of course.
Whatever though, "Russia! Russia! Russia!" is true to some people too.

But I don't doubt your claim. After all, it is a funny story. Why not have fun with it? Like a lot of funny stories, however, you should probably take its level of veracity with a grain of salt.

First time I ever heard about this was on SEC rant from a fan of a school not called Texas A&M.

It's probably what you always hear: "Like the good little TUtards they are, they always accuse you of what they are already doing".
