With NBA betting scandal, can CFB be far behind?

The ref thing got me pondering… ”College” Football has a governing body with zero teeth, and no one in charge. Rampant roster tampering, shady NIL deals, and pay-for-play frickery. If the mob can tamper with the NBA, can organized crime be far behind (if they aren’t already involved) with college football?

Ole Miss is fixing games(just to make this SEC related)

Parlay sheets and number running ops have been around forever.

Who all was tied to the betting scandal from Alabama baseball a few years back?
Like not the coaches involved, but the other people?

It was just 2. The Bama coach gave info to a “ professional gambler” , who pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice.
What kind of professional tries to throw down $100 Large on a college baseball game? Had to know they were cooked when the bet was limited to $15K

Unlike the NBA there's basically no rules here.

I mean Bama's former baseball coach was all over the prop bets. Too much bama in him so he got caught easily.

In all seriousness, in the timeline we're living in, I could see a massive betting scandal being the precursor to righting the ship.
The sheer number of people who are playing, officiating and coaching who are being paid pennies compared to the minority, I honestly don't see anyway how it's not happening. It's a 170 billion dollar per year business. What logical human being thinks illegal sports betting on "amateur" college sports isn't going on?
Logistically, it's an improbability that it's not.

All someone would have to do is approach a player and tell him to throw a game for a few 100k.

REC > FBI They wouldn’t dare take on the SEC

I think you’re right. Nothing is going to change until it implodes with corruption. That can’t be too far in the future either.

So one of the guys named in the indictment yesterday sells his picks. Didn't find a lot of free CFB picks on his socials but he was dead on when he made CFB picks.
That's 8/9 in CFB picks.

Coumo with his admitted Italian mob relatives just said this is basically tip of the iceberg and if they want to they can spread it to a ton of sports, and it will stop when they get tired of it. And of this surprising to anyone they are idiots.
It definitely goes on the CFB and always has. The easy people to buy are the refs, 50k-75 and u could probably buy most of them of any game. They can change everything not by what they call but much much more by what they don't call. (Holding for example)
They are second best investment REC ever made behind Saban

Like Barkley said last night. It's hard for individual players to influence entire games. The issue is prop bets on player performance.
I mean Arch was the odds on fav for the Heisman this summer. what if Vegas got to Arch Manning on all those Heisman bets? Could explain his performance this year. Vegas would win a lot of money if it was someone else. (Not saying this happened. Just posing a hypothetical/making a joke...)

Not really betting man myself so I’m ignorant about this, but do they allow prop bets on college players? If so That’s seems like easy picking
