To the surprise of no one, ND is still a better job than UF.

Midwestern guy says no to moving from a traditional Midwestern football powerhouse to the South. Shouldn't be too surprising.

Gee, I wonder if our brand new president who had just been president at Utah and who had a personal relationship with Urban had anything at all to do with that? Hmm...

Some people at UF did want Freeman, nobody that's a decision maker though.

Freeman has a $25 million dollar buyout to leave, there's no way we pay that

No good coach wants to have a toxic fan base and nosy boosters running the show.

Most good head coaches are going to have a buyout similar to that

No they aren't.

Lincoln Riley's is $4m
Lane Kiffin's will be $3m

Cignetti's was unusually high pre new deal at $10m

When a coach leaves on his own, buyouts are usually low. Freeman's buyout being 25 million is obscene.

Aside from an easier path to the playoff, I can’t think of a single metric in which this would be true.

It is 40 million, not 25.

ND has a following (read $$$) that dwarfs UF (and most other schools) nationally.

That’s speculation. Nobody knows what it really is

You're talking about the school's buyout, not Freeman's buyout. The school's buyout is always higher.
