Serious question: why is kiffin the only option when it comes to job vacancies?

Every year he’s everyone’s top pick. I honestly think Drink is just as good if not better than Kiffin.

Because he has proven he can take a middle of the road program and turn them into a playoff caliber team.

You know what Ole Miss was before he came.

Kiffin is great at marketing himself, he keeps himself in limelight on social media.

I think people also have this impression of him that he is a young, up and coming coach - he is older than Kirby

Good coach, lot of options out there. Morris at North Texas would be my pick. One of best QB track records of any coach

Drink is doing the same thing at Missouri though

He’s doing more with less

That makes him very desirable to programs that have had coaches doing less with more

It’s that simple

Kiffin has never made the playoffs. He had a super team last year and still managed to drop 3 games any playoff caliber team should have demolished

Kiffin is a very good coach, but he is not going to instantly turn a program into a national champion. He might make a serious run for one a couple times a decade at a program that can pull elite recruits

Florida won’t give him that time. See Mullen for example

He’s a goofy dork, though.

Kiffin at Ole Miss - .725

Drink at Mizzou - .638

Also, Drink is facing weaker competition on average and comes across like a Dollar Tree Kiffin.

Same reply as another thread.

In the last 54 years (FIFTY FOUR YEARS), Ole Miss has finished in the AP top 15 only SIX times. Kiffin has three of those.

The dude is an incredible coach.

Seems ole miss hired him first chance they got. Don’t throw stones in glass houses.

Kiffin is still young, he's funny as heck whenever he's interviewed, one of the best offensive minds in the game. But he really seems to like Ole Miss a ton. It'd be really hard to get him away from there

Lane can win the press conference, just not the big games.

Sure but for far shorter of time. Drink was on the hot seat until he got his footing. He was close to being fired.

But then there’s the fact that Kiffin also coached on some premium staffs and has coached truly elite college athletes who put up video game numbers.

Meanwhile Drink has coached under people like Bryan Harsin and mainly Gus Malzahn.

Don’t get me wrong Drink is a good college coach. Kiffin is elite and has coached elite players at championship levels.

I know reading comprehension isn’t everyone’s strong suit so let me spell it out.

No where in my post did I say Kiffin turned anyone into a playoff team. In fact the portion you quoted tells just that. I said playoff caliber. He has turned historically bad Ole Miss into a playoff contender. Period point blank. He has life half the top 15 finishes in Ole Miss history.

Saying he is anything other than an elite college coach is simply not reality.

Kiffin has better “big wins” than Drink does.

Off the top of my head, Kiffin has beaten Georgia, Penn State and LSU several times.

The best wins Drink has (correct me if I’m wrong Mizzou fans) is Kansas State and an Ohio State team with half the team opted out.
