a pretty good 11 year record at Penn State, which followed a good record at Vanderbilt

Penn State is a very insular place. They think they're better than they are.

Blah. Every situation needs context.

You're telling me the same mentality of "how do you want to get rid of John Calipari" ? Or even "how do you want to get rid of Tubby Smith" ? Hell. "Why do you want to get rid of Mark Stoops" ?

Because what they did, back then, doesn't match up with what they're doing now.

But if you like you some James Franklin that much ? He's on the market. Go get him.

You - in particular. You want James Franklin in Tuscaloosa ? Because his calendar is wide open. Make the call.

I remember he himself saying in a presser after a bad loss that Penn State expected to be elite and that was the level he was expected to get them to. I think that was about 8 years ago. Based on this year’s record they are one of the worst teams in the power conferences. Their best win is FIU who plays in CUSA and is 3-3

Please hold it down. The LSU Board of Supervisors may be listening.

Do t have underestimate the powers that be in Tuscaloosa, Franklin would absolutely play for a national title at Bama. Probably better than deboer.

It's systemic, every part of Bama wants Championships....

Sure. And I'm quite sure every soul in Hell wants ice water.

But how do you get it ? Now that's the thing, ain't it ?

Is it just baked into the cake that 'Bama will win championships ? Nope. For every Saban they've had a Shula.

DeBoer having an eleventy billion dollar buyout and Franklin's win record against any sort of ranked team outside of his one playoff run should put that conversation to bed.

He did lose some pretty inexcusable games but that was a rash decision. Their top target also had a bad loss this week. They may paint it as him looking at his new job but a loss is a loss either way. We're a very flavor of the week group. Their were a ton of fans, tennessee included that thought Dave aranda, Matt Campbell and Hugh freeze were homerun hires. Truth is there aren't alot of kirby smart, nick saban types out there. Hell alabama wanted to fire deboer week 1 and they look like the best team in the conference if not the country

Let's say Kirby loses to BAMA in Indy and OhioSt makes that FG in 2022, Kirby has zero titles.

Do you think uga fires him?

I don't.

Franklin won 104 games in 11.5 years. And he represented PennSt well after the Sandusky shite.

Franklin is a good coach.

he wasn't hired to be "pretty good". THAT'S where they were when they HIRED him.

Penn St was 82-29 in the 9 yrs before Franklin.

That's averaging 9-3 every year fir the math challenged.

Did I say I wanted UA to hire him ?

Gee. Is there a reason this simple question is making you angry ? Does it have something to do with your basketball coach going to Arkansas ?

Agree, far easier to hire down.

I hate the BigX. I hate them all. PennSt expects OhioSt results with MichSt commitment.

I hope PennSt sinks into an abyss of despair unseen in that state.

And that's about it in the face of greater expectations.
Franklin's stay at Penn State reminds me of Mark Richt at
Georgia.
Average wins per season :
Franklin ----9.45
Richt--------9.67
