VolTwitter seems to think he might not be the guy.

Tennessee fans, is he the guy?

Dude has made them relevant again and is the only coach to beat Bama in the post iPhone period. Who else are they going to get? James Franklin?

He and his offensive scheme has injected life back into a program that was dead under Pruitt. For those Vol fans who think he’s not, I question who is available that’s better. (No, James Franklin ain’t it)

The core of the problem is defensively. He is way too patient with Tim Banks.

Mizzou fans saw Chumley's act up close.

Offense runs it up against cupcakes then folds like a rusty chair against defenses with pulse.

Perrenial pretenders.

He’s great at Neyland and average away from Neyland.

He fits the UT coach model to a power T.

shows promise with a weak November schedule -check

From the big orange perspective, the guy has it all.
Sadly, he is unlikely to back into any sort of championship like the Great Pumpkin Fulmer because the SEC is a much better conference than in 1998.

No, he's benefited from a shite schedule and has done nothing in five years there.

*due in large part to inept officiating.

Honestly, probably not bc we will always have a ceiling, but I appreciate him elevating the program from where it was.

Just for clarification's sake....

If you are calling Heupel "Chumley" because he looks like the Walrus on the Tennessee Tuxedo cartoon... it is actually spelled "Chumlee"...

If you are calling Heupel "Chumley" because of the guy on Pawn Stars who is also nicknamed "Chumlee" because he looks like the Walrus on the Tennessee Tuxedo cartoon... It is also spelled "Chumlee".

I think the best coach they've had in quite a while. I really do worry about playing his offenses. His teams play hard too, and they never quit. I'd feel pretty good about Heipel if I was UT fan. He came into the league at the height of the SEC and took over a program that has struggled for 20 years. In my opinion, he's doing a hell of a job.

Much too rational of a take for the internet.
