Dude went 3 for 3 on 4th down, including one deep shot. He played to win, for sure.

When you have a QB dropping dimes like Simpson, frick the kicking game. I'd be Kenny Rogers on a warm summers evening...

That 4th/8 was a bit crazy, for sure. I thought he'd punt, but that's some serious confidence in Simpson to make a throw. Shows how close that game was.

That game shouldn’t have been that close. I’m not taking a shot at Missouri because they played well. I’m just saying that Bama has struggled in the red area since the second half of the Georgia game. At some point Bama has to start putting these games away when they get the chance.

Our defense gives up big plays, yes? Even in the passing game. Is what it is. And as successful as the 4th down plays are - and as good as it makes us look - the odd trick play in the first half has always backfired. Those are two negative plays instead of just one. If it's a close win, it's a close win for a reason, 8/10 times.

Coming out of the half fumbling and giving Missouri an easy score was the only reason it was close.

However, credit Missouri for forcing that fumble.

They are top 10 in 3rd down conversion offense and defense.

Missouri is a legit football team.

Bama has to much talent on offense to struggle like they do when the field shrinks. The main factor I see is the running game struggles really bad when the field shrinks and the back of the endzone becomes a 12th man on the field. The run game has improved a lot but when everyone in the stadium knows the run is coming the o line doesn’t bully people and make it work.

The game wasn't in doubt at the 3 min. mark. Problem was, nobody told Missouri this.

When you have your best DB almost ridding a freshman receiver who is on fire, there is only one thing else they could have done, take a penalty. They were making their own 4th down miracle plays.

I'd argue we didn't get/are not getting/etc the pressure/blitz packages we would've gotten under Saban. So it's not as lucky/random as you propose. Also argue 3 minutes in college football ain't worth a quarter anymore.

Punting would’ve probably put Mizzou at the 20 instead of the 35-40 wherever we were at the time. I know it was on their side of the field. Anyway because of that, I didn’t think it was that big of a gamble

The past 2 and a half games I bet they are not. They have left a lot of points off the board. They were inside the 20 several times against Vandy and really never put the game away until Jam broke the run at the end.

I posted a link to the stats for you and everything…

In their last three games Alabama is tied for first in the country at 100%. They have scored on 13/13 possessions inside the red zone.
