Any of you gumps that can't just admit you got this call are fuggin pathetic. You know that if that was a Bama player hitting a Mizzou player no shot they even think about throwing the flag.
You be the judge for those who haven't seen it.

Forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless player.
If forcible contact wasn’t made to the head or neck area, how did the player get knocked out cold?
It was textbook targeting. The literal definition.

The whole point of the targeting rule is to prevent this exact thing from happening. Cry all you want. But this is the point of that rule.

I had only seen the play once before your post. But after seeing it again, it seems like clear cut, by the books targeting to me. Not sure why your panties are in such a wad about it. Wait, yes I do, its because you are a sore loser cry baby bitch.
Bama DL James Smith got called for targeting against UGA when he simply tackled the RB and put his head into the ball, just like you are taught, you dumb frick.

Purple = HEAD OR NECK area
Yellow = top of defender’s HELMET
Green = HELMET making contact w/HEAD OR NECK area of a DEFENSELESS player

If you were to Google search for "video of targeting" that would be the first one to pop up.

Launched to the head or neck region. That's textbook. WTF are you moaning about?

What’s done is done. Now your team needs to gear up and get ready to save Freeze’s job for your first road game.

the bama softie came down and landed at that angle. WTF is he supposed to do?
Did the Mizzou player leave his feet? Nope. Look it was a violent but that's it. It's football ladies. People do get hurt sometimes.
you know like your soft azz RB jammy.... who tried to run over our D but oops!!!! He got stuck!!! and all the bama fans at the game were crying for targeting/helmet to helmet. lol
Clowns.
You cheating azz gumps are pathetic to say the least.
Friendly reminder that even with the officials and our QB gifting you the game you STILL barely beat Lil' Ol' Mizzou.
You needed the officials to bail your cheating azzes out! My oh my how the tide has changed.
Side note: Bear Bryant was not the best at anything other than fuggin cheating. Kind of like John Wooden the greatest basketball cheater....errr I mean coach ever!

If you want to see a real BS call, a Floroda player was called for targeting an A&M players butt. No homo.

Definitely not targeting. Led with the crown, but to the hip. Probably flagged him for his own good, he's lucky he didn't break his neck!

Not a requirement for targeting. Have you actually read the rule? I'll bold the sections you should focus on:
quote:
Targeting and Making Forcible Contact to Head or Neck Area of a Defenseless Player
ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI)
Note 1: "Targeting" means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to:
-Launch-a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area
-A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground
-Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area
-Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet
Note 2: Defenseless player (Rule 2-27-14). When in question, a player is defenseless. Examples of defenseless players include but are not limited to:
-A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass.
-A receiver attempting to catch a forward pass or in position to receive a backward pass, or one who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier.
-A kicker in the act of or just after kicking a ball, or during the kick or the return.
-A kick returner attempting to catch or recover a kick, or one who has completed a catch or recovery and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier.
-A player on the ground.
-A player obviously out of the play.
-A player who receives a blind-side block.
-A ball carrier already in the grasp of an opponent and whose forward progress has been stopped.
-A quarterback any time after a change of possession A ball carrier who has obviously given himself up and is sliding feetfirst.
For the play in question:
Mizzou player made forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent.
The rule is crystal clear here.

lol how's he a POS? He made a great play and if Mizzou was playing just about any other team besides ND there'd have been no call.
Is the defender supposed to let the guy catch the ball and just let him start running?
If Mizzou and Bama switched uniforms no shot they call a penalty there. Maybe you should stick to flag football.
Reminder how pathetic bama is................. even with the officials and Mizzou's QB gifting you the game you BARELY by the skin of your teeth beat Lil' Ol' Mizzou.

yeahhh , on a defenseless player that unfortunately is targeting.
IF targeting was called thats a good call.
But while you are on a roll, maybe address the fake punt penalty in the SC game. That one you'd have a case for a phantom call.
