UF has not been shut out since 1988 which is 265 games. This is the longest streak in the nation. We have a terrible offense and Texas has a really good defense. It is a miracle the streak has continued through some of the worst offenses in the conference in the last 15 years.

So far this year:

Offense

Points per game
1. Tennessee 51.0
2. Vanderbilt 49.0
3. Missouri 45.2
4. Ole Miss 40.6
5. Mississippi State 38.6
6. Alabama 38.0
7. Arkansas 37.4
8. Texas A&M 35.8
9. Georgia 34.5
10. Texas 31.8
11. Oklahoma 31.3
12. Auburn 27.6
13. LSU 27.0
13. Kentucky 27.0
15. South Carolina 24.8
16. Florida 22.0

Yards per play
1 Vanderbilt 7.85
2 Arkansas 7.70
3 Ole Miss 7.06
4 Tennessee 7.00
5 Missouri 6.85
6 Texas A&M 6.72
7 Alabama 6.57
8 Texas 6.22
9 Mississippi State 6.17
10 Oklahoma 6.06
11 Georgia 6.05
12 LSU 5.50
13 South Carolina 5.36
14 Kentucky 347.0
14 Auburn 5.28
16 Florida 4.94

Defense

Yards per play allowed
1 Texas 3.58
2 Oklahoma 3.71
3 Missouri 4.04
4 LSU 4.61
5 Vanderbilt 4.65
6 Texas A&M 4.71
7 Mississippi State 4.78
8 Florida 4.82
8 Tennessee 4.82
10 South Carolina 4.87
11 Auburn 4.93
12 Alabama 5.05
13 Ole Miss 5.16
14 Georgia 5.18

16 Arkansas 6.12

Points per game allowed
1 Texas 7.8
2 Oklahoma 9.0
3 LSU 12.2

A Texas football podcast i listen to was hypothesizing that the environment in Florida this weekend is going to be very interesting. They are anticipating the boos will echo to start the game for Napier. If that is true it will be interesting to see how the UF squad will respond.

If you throw the ball to your own players you win the game.

Seems to be a very difficult task for the Gators.

No chance. Lagway will come out ready to play and score the 1st points of the game. After that, it will get interesting.

Texas defensive numbers are extremely overrated due to level of competition they have played. They have played 3 of the worst non conference games in the country. Sam Houston State, San Jose St UTEP. If you look at their combined win loss records ouch. Not saying Texas defense is bad or anything but those numbers would be higher vs better competition.

3.76 yards per play against Ohio State is horrible, I know.

Actually, I’m kinda thinking this weekend will end the losing streak for the Gators. Florida is a lot better than everyone thinks right now. And Texas’ Arch Manning is worse than everyone anticipated. I see this as a very winnable SEC game at home for the Gators.

We have really good backs and a really good line.

So Napier will have Lagway throw 50 times and get 6 interceptions.
