I am honored by your thoughts that UGA is that kind of spri g board for you but Bama better worry about Vandy.

Bet the double-wide on it already. Ua adapted athletic female BB is the most dominant dynasty in college sports history since Arky Men's indoor track, UCLA shooty hoops, or Iowa wrestling. Bama will get another trophy this year

That would be a lot of commitment to a bit. I'm not that committed.
EtA: unless you were talking about the OP. That is totally an alter troll.

Not with Kane Wommack calling the defense. This is going to be the downfall, unfortunately.

I don't know. Times are changing. DeBoer has started to get fire in his belly and was on Wommack's arse a few times Saturday. Hopefully, it sparks a change for the better. It was refreshing to see either way.

Bama is who I thought they were pre-season:
-more passing-oriented than run-oriented because Jam and Co aren't vintage elite Bama RBs
-hot or cold (mostly cold) run-blocking for a single back set, not consistently good
-defense vulnerable to an athletic dual-threat QB and/or elite rushing attack apparently, not consistent on stopping big play
what they have going for them (I still have their ceiling as 10-2 and CFP, waffled between 10-2 and 9-3 preseason):
-Simpson taking care of the ball, ability to avoid INTs bodes well for winning success which ties into the next element
-good pass-blocking (disclosure: I'm an LSU fan and therefore am inherently biased against Bama and believe the reason their QBs never get sacked is because they hold in pass-protection and never get called -- I have eyes), clean pocket for a guy as tall as him is integral to going through reads
-most of their hard games are at BDS: Bama has not lost at BDS since early 2023, could that end this year against Pavia, Mateer, Aguilar, maybe LSU if their offense rights the ship? Maybe, I didn't account for it and don't think it does. They could be in legit danger against South Carolina, a surging Mizzou team with a bye before, and Auburn in the always crazy at Jordan-Hare Iron Bowl and Jackson Arnold at QB
Still a long way to go but I will say this: if Bama was to burst through my 10-2 ceiling and finish 11-1, they will more than likely accomplish it by grinding out these games similar to how they defeated Georgia Saturday, it won't be the dominance of the 2010s, more a complimentary football approach to winning and taking care of the ball.

The Alabama defense only lost two games last season, against Vandy and Tennessee
The other two losses, OU and Michigan, were due to horrible offensive turnovers that gave the opponent the ball in scoring position or the defense scored a TD. Even in that Vandy game Milroe threw a pick six. That led to 7 Vandy points. Vandy won by 6.
If Alabama had just punted on first down against Michigan during the monsoon Alabama would have won. Instead this was the first quarter. Milroe got sacked at the Alabama 44 on 4th down. Michigan got the ball in Alabama territory. Michigan went 17 yards in 7 plays and kicked a field goal. Next Alabama possession Milroe fumbled on the first play. Michigan got the ball on the Alabama 18. They went 7 yards and kicked a field goal. The next possession Milroe threw an int on the second play of the drive. Michigan got the ball on the Alabama 15. Michigan scored a TD. Next possession on the first play Milroe was sacked and fumbled. Michigan got the ball on the Alabama 6 yard line. Michigan gained 3 yards and kicked a fieldgoal. Milradio had three turnovers in four plays. That all happened in the first quarter.
Michigan was up 16-0. They scored four times with 42 yards of offense on 18 plays. That is 2.3 yards/play.
Alabama lost 13-19. But not because of the defense.

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I think Georgia will be fine, Saturday night was just a great college football game between 2 extremely talented teams and (somewhat becoming the case with DeBoer/Grubb) great head coaches. Georgia's foundation and elite coaching staff are strong enough to withstand a heartbreaking L like Saturday at home and come back with fire in their eyes the rest of the way. Auburn at Jordan-Hare is always trouble but I can't see Texas and Ole Miss going into Athens and delivering another L, Kirby will ensure his team plays with the appropriate urgency.

My comment wasn’t totally about Saturday’s game. Just about how poor Bama looked vs. FSU and how good they look now. And even more so about the parity in college FB in general.
Saturday’s loss was no surprise to THIS UGA fan.

Yeah I know I am. I am not putting my double-wide and my bass boat in hock to bet on a NC. 9-3 finish would be pretty good imo.
You people are nuts getting yourself really worked up over 1 win.

Like the UT/UGA game, either team could have won both of these games.
