Mine was yesterday. I've been a defender of Hugh Freeze for a long time. Even before he got hired at Auburn. That ended yesterday. Last night.

3rd and 1. 3rd and fricking 1. With an offensive line that CAN'T block, a quarterback that is petrified to throw a WR open and the game on the line...Hugh Freeze calls 2 straight pass plays. What does the 4th down pass play end with? You guessed it, a sack.

I thought Gus Malzahn was stubborn, but Hugh Freeze takes the cake. He REFUSES to establish the run and refuses to even attempt to establish the run. Since the Baylor game, where running the ball won the game, he has reverted back to his old ways. And we won't win many games, if any more, without a running game.

I hope he proves me wrong, I really do, but I'm out. It is what it is.

I’m not calling for a firing yet. But yesterday was unacceptable especially when we saw the same thing the week prior

And, at the end of the day, nothing else matters but winning.

Doesn't matter how much you like someone, they have to produce. Hugh Freeze hasn't done that.

Some of us have never been onboard with Hugh Freeze. Some of us knew the day he was hired how this would turn out. Some of us recognize that Auburn really isn’t serious about hiring a legitimate head coach because that means relinquishing power, which they won’t do. Auburn is gimmick U when it comes to hiring head coaches because they know the fanbase falls right in line with the smoke and mirrors “family” bullshite every four years.

He’s gotta go. His “offense” is pathetic. He has no idea what he’s doing. He never played football, that bugs the hell out of me.

Same here. I was giving him the benefit of getting his guys in the program, but that ship has sailed. With the kind of talent we have, there is no excuse for the putrid offensive showings in the last two games.
If our D hadn't played lights out, we would have lost by 4 TDs yesterday (or worse).

And, like you, I cannot understand why he refuses to even try to establish a running game. Cobb and Alston are averaging 4-5 YPC the last two games, 13 carries for 86 yards against OU, while JA had 20 for -11 yards.
8 carries for 38 yards against A&M, while JA had 15 for 11 yards.
Even if you take away the sacks, that is still more rushing attempts for you QB than both RBs COMBINED!

This crap is just downright unacceptable.

I predict AU is going to be hiring yet another coach this offseason, and I am to the point of not even giving a damn anymore.

yesterday was my tipping point also. Its the entire offensive system. I feel like we only run 10 plays. Watching other teams have functional offenses with lesser talent kills me. We gotta get rid of it all and get someone in with full control of offense. I think we should hire a defensive coach next time. These offensive head coaches get to Auburn and have brain farts.

It’s pretty freaking bad. I want Freeze to succeed and I want him to be smarter than he is, but he’s just not a division 1 coach. He caught lightening in a bottle at Ole Miss with a couple marquee wins against Alabama and those two games earned him so much money and patience over the years. That patience has now run out. If he can’t get us to a bowl game with this roster then he needs to be shown the door. It’s time

Only reason im leaning firing is this team has more talent but still looks the same as year 1.

Same bone head penalties, lack of discipline, QB play and special team.

We dont look like we are getting better at all. Even marginally.

This, unfortunately. Next hiring search will go the same as the previous ones. What Venables said about the PTB should not be happening in the year 2025. But, I’m not a booster so I don’t have a say. I watch and support for the players, but until Auburn grows up and puts winning first before power and control, I will continue to spend minimal.

After the OU game, Freeze admitted that he should have used the RBs more. The next game he uses them less.

It makes no sense. He makes no season. The offensive approach makes no sense.

It’s called getting exposed. It’s easier to hide your deficiencies at a place like Liberty where the competition is arse and a few hundred people are paying attention. Other than 2 wins against Bama while at Ole Miss, what did he actually do there? Doesn’t matter because those two wins against Bama were good enough for the idiots doing the hiring.

When Hugh gets back from Member-Guest next week, he will solve all of the issues.

Yeah I’m sure Okie’s PTB are * totally* different than Auburn’s.

I briefly got on board because of recruiting, but I am pretty sure there are a lot of coaches that could recruit like Hugh with our resources.

Otherwise the hire was idiotic. Just more good ole boy bullshite. He never achieved anything when his offense was relevant a decade ago. We had just fired Gus 3 years prior because his offensive system became irrelevant. Then we hired a guy who has the same issue and even less to show for it.
