I asked ChatGPT to give me a top 25 ranking. Here's how it did:

I asked it to consider recruiting for the last 5 years, transfers and coaching changes. I also had it look at win/loss records so far, margin of victory, and offensive and defensive success rates. Here's what it came up with (after a brief hiccup where it thought Notre Dame was undefeated.)

1. Ohio State
2. Penn State
3. LSU
4. Oregon
5. Miami
6. Georgia
7. Texas A&M

8. Florida State
9. Oklahoma
10. Illinois
11. Iowa State
12. Ole Miss
13. Utah
14. Texas
15. Alabama

16.Tennessee
17. Texas Tech
18. Georgia Tech
19. Indiana
20. Vanderbilt
21. Auburn
22. Missouri

23. Michigan
24. USC
25. BYU

Fairly solid. It's higher on A&M than the AP, lower on Texas, higher on Utah, a little lower on Michigan, and most importantly, much lower on Notre Dame (after I made it look at their record again.)

Solid. But Texas shouldn’t be ranked. Not seeing it. Yet.

Terrible. UGA should be the highest ranked SEC team. We currently hold the best win. LSU beat and overrated Clemson team, and a UF team that lost to USF. They shouldn’t even be in the top 5. Top 10 maybe.

The rest is likely trash too. It probably looked at the AP poll and seeded these ranking off that. Worthless.

It took into consideration margin of victory, opponent quality, and offensive/defensive success rates.

So far Georgia hasn’t been the most efficient team offensively. Probably due to keeping most of their playbook a secret for the first 2 games.

Your “best win” was via a missed field goal

ChatGPT disrespects Indiana as well, everyone's going to find out on Saturday when they beat the brakes off Illinois. Mendoza's arm talent is ridiculous

Why the hell would recruiting rankings make a difference in a real poll?

So... It was a win?

Or does it not count if the other team misses a field goal?

I kinda like your style.

That ranking won't mean anything in 2 weeks

No, but Heupel gave it to UGA. If he runs one more play to get the ball off the left hash, your kicker makes that kick because he isn't trying to push right too much, like he did.

I was trying to combine a power ratings-style poll with a rankings-style poll, so I included a little of the criteria for both. Power ratings factor recruiting in fairly heavily.

I told it to weigh on-field results the most, though, maybe 70-30.

It’s almost because…. It’s Indiana. I like their coach and I think he’s done a good job there, but they don’t do shite against ranked teams. Maybe they will Saturday. Bert has the Illini playing well.

I still don’t see how you warrant putting Alabama over Tennessee. Doing so means you put more value in losing big to FSU than you do by barely losing to Georgia. If that’s your stance, that’s fine. I got no issue with that, BUT,
they then went on to place Georgia over FSU. Those two things both can’t be true.

The one discussion point would be Bama lost to a much improved FSU in Tallahassee, whereas The Vols lost at home and gave up 40+ points. I got no horse in the race but perhaps that goes into these formulas
