Shane Beamer didn't give a LaNorris Sellers injury update for South Carolina-Missouri game

quote:

On Sept. 14 Beamer said he was "optimistic" about Sellers and his status for the week. He was asked if there's a certain amount of time Sellers needs to practice for Beamer to feel comfortable putting him in the game. He said there's a policy that if you don't practice Tuesday or Wednesday of a game week, you don't play.

Beamer might be optimist, but I'm not. Mizzou will get Luke Doty on Saturday.

They don’t want us to have too much to game plan on.

But I would think a concussion is missing at least a game.

I thought so too. Or is it if he passes the protocols he can play?

I don’t think it really matters or impacts the outcome of the game. He’d be smart to jump to VA tech before is flame completely goes out.

I honestly don't think it matters who USCe starts. Mizzou is going to bring the pain.

Availability reports for conference games come out tomorrow. I thought everyone knew this.

Doesn’t mean if he’s playing or not if he’s available.

I thought everyone knew this.

If it is, then that’s an indictment on Mizzou.

If offered, he'd be wise to take it. The ACC is pretty dadgum open with Clemson coming back to earth and FSU teeter-tottering.

For the record, I like Shane. He leaves something to be desired when it comes to hiring OCs and holding them accountable, but he's a good steward for the program. He definitely would be leaving the job better than he found it.

He is already linked to them and his heart will always be there.

His father put them on the map.

It's an easier job in many ways. UVA isn't worth a wet shite, and never will be, so you don't have much of an in-state rival. It's in a far easier conference to navigate. It doesn't have as much resources/money as SC has shown, and that's the real rub. How is he going to fund NIL there? Rumors are they're behind most of the ACC, which isn't going to get it done.

SC is, and can be, a damn fine job. Lots of instate talent, fantastic support and facilities, etc. But there are internal challenges here that may not exist in Blacksburg. Beamer may be hitting his head on his self-imposed ceiling, due to not being able to hire an OC. VaTech is a soft place to land.
