Never get tired of watching his highlights. Growing up through the 80’s was awesome and getting to witness the greatness in person many times was even better.

The way people talk about Bo and tell Bo stories, he really is a modern American folk hero.

He’s just like Davy Crockett or Johnny Appleseed or Paul Bunyan. People will be telling Bo stories hundreds of years from now.

One story I heard from a walk-on that played with Bo:

Picture day for the team in JHS bleachers, Bo was standing on the field and flat-foot jumped over the hedges and on to the top of the wall in front of the bleachers. This guy said it was the most incredible thing he ever saw Bo do, and he saw him at practice every day.

Fortunate enough to have had season tickets and watch Bo play.

Every game we fans knew it would happen when he got the ball . Not if but when.

He never disappointed us

Of a number of memorable moments from watching Bo live within the confines of Jordan-Hare, one of my personal favorites was from the ‘85 East Carolina game.

Of course Bo racked up a $h!t Ton of yards that game while feasting on a Cupcake.

However, on one run, once he broke loose into the open field, some poor ECU cornerback attempted to tackle Bo. Bo CHUGGED right over the dude, put him flat on his back, and literally ran right OVER him and planted his foot right in the guy’s chest without ever breaking his stride.

I’m pretty sure, even to this day?…that guy still has a permanent “cleat-mark” scar in the middle of his sternum.
