I pray Bobo was trolling both us and Tennessee with that game plan and those calls.

and Gunner was in on it. If not, next Saturday is gonna be ugly. That's all the optimism I can muster after these first two games.

I’m afraid not. Gunner can’t throw a forward pass and we can’t block long enough for his 10 second release. Hopefully the defense shows up in Knoxville or it could get interesting.

We do this every year with bobo. Thinking he’s being vanilla during crap games. Kirby has got to cut ties and get a better OC. Not promoted from within

We’ll be lucky if we even make the e-mowers Bowl

I said this to a friend.. either Gunner and Bobo are trash or, they don’t want to show their hand before the game in Knoxville. I felt they ran the same 3-5 plays on offense all day. Even the third rated ESPN announcers were calling out Gunner for missing wide open receivers!

All recent data points on Bobo/Searles indicate that offense will continue to be average at best, especially if Gunner can’t be more effective as a downfield passer. We simply can’t expect to score a lot of points 5 yards at a time.

Likely some of both.

Turnovers and special teams will be the difference. Ball security was the biggest issue Saturday.

Yesterday was an anomaly. Hot AF, early kick, everyone knew weather might be a problem and not an inspiring opponent. Even the stadium was only at 80% or so.

That said, we better have an improved product ready for TN than I saw yesterday or were going to be in trouble. TN is going to bring everyone up without a downfield threat and it’s only a matter of time before that quick WR out goes for a pick 6.

Gunner just looked hesitant in pulling the trigger downfield…almost like QB yips or something. He has to get more decisive and let it rip.

Look on the bright side. Betting on the Vols to win is the easiest money that you will ever earn.

Missing reads and not trusting your arm is not a symptom of the things you listed. Effort? Sure. OL could be due to situation…I’ll give you that. But a QB not performing basic QB functions, shite that should just be automatic and done without thought? Nah.

I am torn on that because I thought that last year going into Bama and Ole Miss thinking we were saving something prior to those games to not have it on tape. But those games looked bad.

So, are we really just not championship level on Offense and it’s being masked by perceived “rope a dope” and the Defense being good.

They are holding back some of the offense, but Gunner is also hesitating to throw balls over 15 yards down field.

Even with half of the OL out, Phillips is averaging 9.53 yards per carry. Bowens is averaging 5.23 yards per carry and Frazier is averaging 4.64 yards per carry.

I haven't been impressed with the Tennessee defense, so don't expect Georgia to stop running especially if Gaston and Greene are able to play.

Once we get the Vol safeties to move up, it will be interesting to see if Gunner can connect on some deep balls.

Both games, the defense dropped a lot of players in coverage and dropped them deep. They also played way off the ball. A lot of the short passes are RPOs. All worked other than one as 86 missed a block. They are not plays where you get 25 yards. You look at them as running plays. It puts pressure on outside defenders to make open field tackles. We executed that part of the game well. If UT or any team “stacks the box” or moves up on our receivers the read naturally will be to go over them. It will not look the same as it has looked so far this season as there will not be a bunch of defenders deep in coverage. Our receivers will have to beat the close man coverage and I think they can.
Gunner did bail on plays that he had. Some were due to missed blocks and some were his clock moving faster than necessary. I’d like to see him improve in this area and based on what he has done in the past, I think he can.

On throws downfield? Maybe a few dozen yards and zero tds.

Overall, qbr was 40, which is terrible.

This isn't Jeopardy. You're also not a professor and we're not your students. If you care to make a statement then make it as you did later. In short, no one is gonna play your silly little question and answer game.

As Brooks pointed out in his breakdown of last weeks game, not that anyone with 2 eyes can't see it. Kinda hard to miss.

His QBR was 132. Why are you lying?
