I think State beats ASU this week

ASU allowed an FCS team to score 19 points on them at home. State is much improved on both sides of the ball. ASU needed Skattebo last year to overcome MSU by a single score. The game this year is in Starkville.

Put the crack pipe down you'll see a different AZ State this weekend

It was somehow a close game last year. Skattaboo was their offense.

Dude, they looked like shite against an FCS team.

State has a lot to prove. I’d take Arizona State in this one.

Wouldn’t be the most shocking thing. They don’t have that human bowling ball of a running back. I’ve seen better teams go down to Starkville and curiously implode

And worse ones go into Stark Vegas and look like peak Bama, that being the mighty Toledo Rockets

I wouldn’t bet either side of it. The humidity might also be a factor

Its certainly an intriguing "unranked hosting a questionable top 10 team" matchup - kind of like Florida State-Alabama last week.
State is definitely improved. The defense was awful last year and they played well against USM. Before you say "That was USM," they looked awful against Massachusetts last year. So its fair to say they are improved.
The thing you forget about State from last year's 2-10 debacle is that they were bad, but it was really the defense. The offense was able to put up some yards (and points) on some pretty good teams.
Georgia was a 35 point favorite and it was a 41-31 game that State had 400 yards of offense. Georgia had 600.
Texas and Ole Miss had to pull away late.
If State's defense is as improved as it looks, they will beat ASU.

Can’t speak for Texas but all we did was run the ball up the middle against msu last year. We played more vanilla against may than we did against Furman.
Dart only threw the ball 24 times and Bentley ran it 20 times. Dart had 13 rushing attempts himself. 254 yards rushing on the day.

The whole slate of games is a huge letdown this week. I think this game will get some buzz, which leads me to believe that ASU will win easily.

I’m optimistic. I haven’t been excited about a game since 2018 though so maybe that’s why

Yeah our defensive line was atrocious last year. All you had to do is run.
The most promising thing that we saw in week 1 was we had the SEC defensive lineman of the week. USM ended with 102 yards rushing but 47 of those yards were on the last two USM drives against our third and fourth team after the game was in hand.
That kind of improvement in rush defense + no Skattebo = State has a chance

yeah I took MSU at +6.5. I think the fanbase is crazy hungry for a win against a P4 team so it's going to be a rowdy home crowd.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. At the end of the day the worst of the SEC is as good as the best of the Big XII. See last year for reference:

I hope State fans believe this with all their blest little hearts, and get their hopes way, way up.
