Bama fans are the Sirius XM subscribers of the college football world

No one cared about Sirius until Howard Stern signed on. Similar situation with Bama when Saban came in — true Bama fans hardly existed, no one cared until Saban started stacking titles.
If Stern leaves, Sirius might keep a few diehards, but the business is dead. That’s exactly what’s happening with Bama: 95% of their “fans” only showed up in 2009 and stayed on board as they saw five championships in 15 years. Relevance isn’t enough — they demand titles.
The objective truth is this: Bama won’t just miss the playoffs, they’re staring at 7–5 and 6–6 seasons for years. Ed O’s $17M buyout only wrecked LSU for two seasons; DeBoer’s deal locks Bama into utter failure until at least 2028.
So what now? I want to hear from Bama fans on this one, the few that are actually paying attention after DeBoer humiliated the SEC this weekend. How many Roll Tide Willie’s are ready to pool together and torch their savings on a program run by a complete loser? Are Tuscaloosa boosters even smart enough to realize a pointless investment when they see it?

Bama fans have always cared and have been obnoxious - at least in the 40years i have been an AU student/alum.
Saban just amplified their arrogance...

If I had to guess, less than 10% of SXM subscribers listen to Stern.
XM already had a strong listener base when the companies merged. Add in the play by play for NFL, MLB, etc. there are hundreds of reasons outside of Stern for folks to listen.
