Golesh was born in the USSR and spent some of his childhood years in NYC. Does he have the proper pedigree, having only come to Ohio later in childhood? I need your expert opinion on this.

No commie should wear the script A, Pawwl. He ain’t no Bama man.

He worked his way up, so that's impressive to me. No good ole boys, thx.

Like most Bama fans, you will change your tune once USF dominates this season. Always chasing a winner.

I just don't know that he's breathed in enough Midwestern Air. Especially during his formative years.

This boards infatuation with Jim Leonhard is fascinating. His pedigree as a Wisconsin DC landed him a job as an analyst at Illinois and a glorified safeties coach with the Broncos. What are we even talking about here. Jim Leonhard? Really?

He had top defenses at Wisconsin and now winning rave reviews at Denver. He's Demeco Ryans.
The bonus is he came up in a program that prioritize running the ball and offensive line.

I think Jim’s representation must have a presence on Alabama message boards.

He’s well respected in the Big Ten and with the Wisconsin faithful. Was a massive overachiever as a college and NFL player. We could do way, way worse as a DC.
Since he only briefly had a stint as a DC, not sure I’d give a position coach the job as HC though.

It's just the one guy really, and he has a bizarre fetish for anyone born in the Rust Belt.

Matt Campbell would be my top pick if the criteria is…
a rust belt coach
Budget hire

Also….the brightest thing about this situation is that KDB has fricked up so bad that now there is zero fears from candidates about replacing CNS. So far, KDB has ruined a product in barely over a season.
Come to Bama to save Bama is much more appeasing.
We just need to watch out about shite canning coaches wayyyy too fast. That’s a problem and will do damage.

I like Matt Campbell. I think he’s one of the better coaches out there.

Let me start by saying this Alabama football has been my passion since I was old enough to remember anything in life , I've lived and died by this team for almost fifty years , I've seen a lot of good times and a few bad. Kalen reminds me of Mike shula more and more everyday, he is a good guy but players can't run the team, they have to have structure ,they have to have accountability or you don't have a team.
I didn't like this hire from the start, I watched his teams at Washington and while he did really good most games especially against good teams, he always struggled against the bottom teams , they won those games but barely.sometimes. he doesn't have the fire inside to motivate his teams for every game . The players are all motivated for big games , but they have to be ready to go for every game to be champions . Kalen is just not built for Alabama football.
I was on the dan lanning train wanting him over everybody else , he was the best choice back then, I don't blame him for not coming he has a goldmine where he is, but I'm telling everybody right now if we want Alabama back to being a top five team again we have to get Glenn shumann, he is Kirby's right hand man , the guys only 35 he graduated from Alabama , his father went to Alabama, he is a damn good DC , he knows what it takes to be great. That's all he's ever seen since he has been coaching. He's been apart of at least 5 or 6 nattys since he's been a graduate assistant and or coach.
He would probably crawl to bama and never leave he would be our kirby. Our defense would be back to being nasty again and with a nasty defense comes championships.

I'd rather pay a high school coach $1 million with a max 2 year buyout than to go through another total BS, anything approaching an $80 million guaranteed contract.
Then you could at least easily move on if he shite the bed until you found the next great coach. I know that's unrealistic, but I don't want a "name" hire...I want the AD to earn his money and find the best fit...whether that's a Group of 5 coordinator or whatever.

If we wanted a proven winner that’s also a hardass there’s only one of those guys available. The sanctimonious portion of our fanbase wouldn’t want to hear it- but if that’s the criteria- proven winner, creates tough football players, recruits his arse off.
It’s Urban Meyer

This is the issue with firing him. If we don’t have a rockstar to replace him we shouldn't eat the 70m. We as bama fans just have to accept this is our Ray Perkins.

I am not a Meyer fan, but he would be the pick. Maybe the only coach out with a proven track record winning a NC at multiple programs.
