quote:

"I think that we got a little complacent and we thought that we won on the first drive, and that's not how it is. Credit to those guys – they played hard for four quarters. We kind of took it for granted. We got to sit here and finish drives. The first drive, no negative plays – and we just got to keep going."

No leadership from the players nor the coaching staff. Greg Byrne needs to get this right and make the change either during the season or the day after the Iron Bowl.

I don’t think it’s complacency. We stopped doing what worked. We ran it down their fricking throats and they couldn’t stop it. It’s a coaching issue. When something is working, keep doing it.

I was assured that we wouldn’t get away from the run game this year and I was lied to

Do you understand how money works at all? That is not going to happen. It can't happen. Stop saying you want it to happen.

The captain of the team and starting QB said we got complacent after a 15-play TD drive; in which our opponents immediately responded with a TD drive of their own.

Seriously, open up the QB competition and let Mack and Keelon have a legitimate chance because this guy isn't gonna win us any games and with our head coach's buddy Wommack running our defense?

We need a winner at QB not a manager.

Translation: "we spent all offseason sucking our own dicks and expected to just show up and win (for the 3rd season in a row)".

On the flip side is that University (and the local economy) has a lot on the line financially and is dependent on a winning football program. Think of the enrollment from out of state students. The Gameday condos and apartment rentals.

Waiting 2-3 seasons to save $20 million might be more costly than not pulling the trigger sooner.

Eh, I see no problem with saying you want it but understand it ain't happening.

The DeBoer era is a lost cause and we're either going to find the money to end it or rot the foundation of the program. If we don't have the money, then this hiring mistake will ruin Alabama football for a generation. If he's not gone this year, I can safely determine that I need to pick up a few new Fall hobbies. Maybe I'll finally get into hunting or pick up woodworking.

This.

Tired of seeing "fire DeBoer" everywhere. Including an absolutely insane buyout clause in his contract makes that not even a remote possibility. That crap needs to end...but that's a whole other topic.

Best case scenario is that he cleans house on the staff, starting at Def Coordinator and then uses the millions we're paying him to go buy a set of gonads and starts acting like he at least gives a sh!t.

As for Ty's quote...pee wee players know a game isn't over after the first drive so he sounded like a literal retard.

One of the problems is there doesn't seem to be any leadership on the team.....there isn't that alpha that sets the standard and holds others accountable.

Seems insane that they could get complacent after the first drive in the first game of the season, a primetime game, against an opponent that has been talking trash all off season. I don't even know what to think about that.

Exactly. If we lose to Georgia and Vanderbilt back to back the stadium will be half empty for the remaining home games. Apathy is the killer of college football programs. If it’s clear that the season is going to be a total loss and that DeBoer isn’t the answer long term then we have to make a change to alleviate the damage already done.

Bama does not have the money to pay DeBoer his buyout and wont for years. We are not Texas A&M. We are actually a poor school compared to other elite programs.

That's very telling about the mindset and leadership of this team. One drive, one TD and you relax?!

That's like needing to lose 50lbs, dieting for a week and losing 2lbs and then sitting around eating little Debbies and drinking beer all weekend.

I remember on the Dynasty podcast AJ talking about after the loss to LSU Saban was upbeat about how they still had a chance to accomplish what they wanted. Then all the craziness happened that led to the rematch, Oregon and I think Okie state losing? AJ said they were watching these teams lose and celebrating because they got the rematch and Saban came down hard on them telling them they hadn't won shite. That mindset is totally gone from the program

How much money does the booster whose wife slept with Kiffin have? Like if you can’t pay the buyout or build a new basketball arena then maybe you need to get your money up before you dictate terms player.

(I 100% think this is just message board rumor nonsense but I’m trying to heal myself with humor after getting rained on in Tallahassee)
