About this game specifically….

-Two D penalties, the phantom hold on their first drive and the absolutely dumbass forearm to the face of a guy on the ground were both killers.
-D will look good against some schemes, but running QBs eat our breakfast, lunch and dinner; Vandy and AU are gonna be struggles
-Ty really needed a game against a cupcake to get his feet wet as the starter; things were moving too fast for him
-Having to play from behind and going all pass happy put the whole O in a bad spot. OL and QB weren’t up to shouldering that load
-Going for all those 4th down plays while in scoring position really bit us in the arse. Had we taken one of the fgs in the 2nd half we could’ve had them at 24-20 and really ratcheted up the pressure
-FSU is a pretty good team, but they aren’t spectacular. I’d guess 8-4 or so, but maybe they’ll prove me wrong.

About this team & coaching staff….
-I was fully convinced DeBoer was gonna be the guy; last year I chalked up to a transition for him and for the team; this is the first time I can truly say I am doubting his ability to lead a program like ours. I hope he turns it around, but the doubts are fully turned to 11
-Alabama no longer dominates in the trenches. In fact, it is just the opposite. We will beat lots of teams on skill player talent, but we aren’t winning championships without more dudes up front. Is it strength and conditioning, scheme, bad evals on guys, or maybe just a combination?
-The dumb penalties are unbelievably frustrating. Every loss has had them. Just undisciplined and with no arse-chewings in response.
-LBer play is bad

Still love the Tide, but it is a hard adjustment as a fan to go from expecting to beat everybody soundly to having no idea what’s coming week to week. I 6hink this season will have some highs, but I expect a few more lows too.

In my opinion it's scheme and evaluation. I don't care what On3 says this is not one of the 3 most talented teams in cfb.

I just did not expect to see this team come out so flat and unprepared. They had no answers for anything. Outside of the first scripted drive, they were lost all game.

Ty played in panic mode the entire second half. That doesn’t exactly scream “leadership” to me.

The defense just isn’t it. At all. If Kane still has this job next year, pack it up. His scheme is stupid simple, and these kids still can’t run it.

Too many kids out there today just not wanting it enough. No dogs. No fight in them. That’s a direct reflection of the coaches.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m so sick of the undisciplined morons we’ve had on our team for the last 5+ years. They are momentum killers. It seems to always happen on 3rd down stops too

I put most of the blame on the staff. They continue to see what the players are doing on the field but yet cannot make the adjustments nor bench a player.

Our coaches seem to be in over their heads right now. I was hoping last year was the exception and they would adapt but we got outplayed and out called the majority of the game against what I believe was lesser talent. FSU wanted it more and it showed.

I mentioned it earlier Deboer and Grubb when at Washington did not have these types of big games outside of Oregon. Where every game meant so much for the other team to beat us. The expectations they had there from the program, fans, and whoever were a lot lower.

Also Malzhan has always been a pain to prepare for even late in the season. Now he is only focusing on offense and no game film to see what he was going to throw at us. Wommack nor the players were prepared.

It was the most uninspired play I’ve seen in decades.

Exactly! Like, how do these guys not get hyped for the first game of the season?

Because they are soft. But they are about to feel the wrath of a fanbase

OU last year was worse I think, but I get the sentiment. FSU looked like they were ready to eat iron and shite nails. We looked lethargic after that first O drive.

Kalin Deboer and Kane Womack deserve hours long arse chewing after this debacle. No adjustments, no heart, no urgency, no nothing

Have no idea why they do this. Take some pressure off your young QB, and take FG’s when applicable

I’ve seen teams all weekend chasing points in terrible situations.

I think there’s a coaching philosophy change overall. You used to take the points to preserve options. 24-20 if you can stand and hold them to a FG it’s still a one score game.

Compared to us? Yeah, maybe but I thought fsu looked pretty fricking average and they still pushed our shite in

This roster is just drawing a check, and it showed

Does our GM catch some of the blame?

Absolutely agree. They looked like they not only wanted to be there, but wanted to play some punch you in the mouth football. We didn’t look ready to play mentally. Their QB was another in a list of pretty bad QBs to absolutely kick our arses.

NIL needs to be somehow tied to effort and stupid penalties.

No hustle, no urgency, no discipline. No check.

I don’t understand why the entire defense was looking at the sidelines for what to do while FSU is lined up and ready to snap it, on multiple occasions in the second half. They looked confused, hesitant and unsure of what they were doing. They should know their job cold in the second year in the system but they did not. No excuse for that.

If the coaches do not have trust that the team can fight their way back down the field again...

Looked to me like the Staff was hoping to get within one score and have some fluke happen or some long shot play happen so they could win by mistake.

Once Grubb was certain the long grind game was no longer an option, he started inserting the best speed RB in the game that mostly knew the play book. He was trying to generate a long run if one player on the FSU D made a mistake.

Average teams that want to be there and want to hit somebody and come right out and punch you in the face from the start have been known to do some damage to better teams who have their heads up their arse.
