Just because LSU got smacked around by the Big 10s ninth best team doesn't mean they can't beat Clemson. Clemson was 0-3 in their SEC games last season.

You are right. It's much more likely to be 42-17 in Clemson's favor. 41 is a fairly rare numerical digit to hit in college football.
LSU may score 2 touchdowns and a field goal to get the much more likely 17 than 1 touchdown and 3 field goals to have 16.
Either way though, Clemson starts off LSU's season in the only way they understand, with a loss.
