I love the kid. I really do - he is/was all-in for Bama.
I hope he gets better, studies hard, and learns . . . like Hurts did.

I like his mentality. He knows what he has to work on, and he just have to get better. he can't get discouraged. Focus on getting better.

If only there was already a whole fricking thread for this type of thing...

For sure. Milroe was a lot of things, but lazy isn't one of them. He'll put in the work.
That being said, he just has a mental disconnect about ball security. From his first start against Texas A&M to that horrific outing vs Michigan in the bowl game, the dude just does not value taking care of the football. I'm not sure how much it will improve either.

Im not convinced of his work ethic. Maybe its in the weight room. If it was in the film room, he would have already progressed beyond his current abilities. He was in our program for a long time. He never changed positions. And he couldnt make basic reads or adjustments.
If he was working so hard for all his years at Bama, what was he working on? It wasnt touch and timing with his receivers bc he never had much of that either.

Yep. Take away the WTF turnovers where he literally stared down a DB or made no attempt to secure the ball before being tackled and he's more likely than not just your run of the mill good not great college QB and no one has any particularly strong negative opinions of him. His other deficiencies were frustrating, but not the kind of thing that consistently fricks over the team.

I was just going by what his teammates said about being the first one there, last one to leave, etc. I think the other stuff just doesn't come natural to him like it does for most QB's. Curious to see if he can develop after a few years in the league.

Milroe is stupid and delusional and he can't figure out he is not a QB. OBrien was correct in his assessment.

Death, taxes and Panthers4Life defending Milroe for his shitty quarterbacking. bamabonners will be along shortly I’m sure.

I don’t believe anyone on this board wanted to see Milroe fail, not if you’re a true Bama fan. We all seen his potential as fans, but behind the scenes is a totally different person we don’t know about as the coaching staff does.
My perspective on what I’ve seen of him as a QB in the last three yrs is that he lacks confidence in his ability to throw the ball. When he throws a int he becomes very skittish afterwards. He has a hard time making a decision and no confidence in his throw. He will never be a successful QB ever if he can’t overcome that and there’s no indication he has.
In that Oklahoma game he showed a side of himself I never seen from him. He gave up. And as a QB and Captain of the team you can never ever do that no matter what.
He’s got a chance now to turn it all around. A fresh new start as a QB in the league best of luck to him. But I’m not sad he’s not the QB at Bama this yr at all.

I don't know about that. In the OU game you mentioned he threw back to back picks to basically the SAME spot on the field. He did the same vs Texas the year before. That just says to me he thinks he can "definitely get it this time."
His confidence just may outrun his ability.

I'm a Milroe defender at the end of the day, while recognizing why he gets so much flak.
That being said, its time to shut the frick up about it. Last season is over. Dude's in the NFL. All these threads do is bring people out to bitch, complain and argue. Its over.

I understand the point you’re making and I don’t necessarily disagree with you on that.
But just to clarify I said in the Oklahoma he gave up.

Reminds me of the Iraqi Media propagandist that said Iraqi wasn't under attack by America and everything was under control as sirens were going off around him as missles struck.

We still bitch about Chris Capps and Spencer Pennington. Milroe has got a long time until we forget.

Honestly, it’s a message board. Why should we not be able to gripe? Been watching the same shitty quarterback for the past 2 years over 2 coaching staffs. just hoping the next QB is better.

I am really, really glad that he is not our quarterback anymore. That's all I can say.
