Not sure why BK gets all the hate...

He essentially had 1 hand tied behind his back during the ND years. Tough academic requirements, not paying players, located in the midwest, private catholic school with few chicks there. All this during the height of sec dominance paying players putting deep south monsters on the field. He made a NC game there and a few playoff appearances. He even went to toe to toe with those Kirby UGA teams and Dabo Clemson teams in the regular season. I don't really see him as being bad at ND. Sure he hasn't win the big one, but only like 3 active coaches have. That's not a great argument. Ryan Day is lucky there is a 12 team playoff now. He gets a third chance with his 90% blue chip roster. Marcus Freeman gets to look good too despite losing to NIU at home. LSU was a total rebuild when BK got here, and he's built a squad this season and returns coordinators for the first time. BK is a clear top 5 coach in CFB. We comin.

You think it’s because of Notre Dame? That carpetbagger used car salesman gets the hate because he isn’t a very good coach.

And he killed a kid. There’s that too.

Tennessee's coach is a carpetbagger as well, and Kelly has a better SEC record than Heupel does.

People can make all the excuses they want for him. The fact is that this is his 4th season. This is his team. He has the coaches he wanted. He got the NIL money to get the players that he wanted. If he can't make a run this season with a 5th year Heisman candidate at QB, when will he be able to get it done?

I've never seen a coach complain to the officials that the other team was blitzing aside from Kelly. He's just a weird guy.

I have no clue what his win % is, but I know he is one funny SOB and I can't wait to read his new joke book. I've heard Mateer gave BK a few inside jokes.

Yea, i think it was technically impossible to win a natty at ND during his tenure. How much money and effort did Tennessee expend from 2010-2021 to not even win a single game against Alabama? To go 0-12 against a rival. Those games weren't even close. Average margin of defeat was 28.5. Laughable. But hey, congrats on that 12 team playoff appearance, hang the banner.

It's called recruiting. When the head coach is all that, the record will closely follow him around. It's silly to even hint at the idea that you can't win at ND. It's particularly stupid when Kelly was a better coach at ND than LSU.

He's an average coach on an average team. He's doing what is expected

You have no idea what a carpetbagger is do you?

All they can do is say no.

Not what is expected from this LSU fan.

Maybe I haven't been giving him his due.

You're ignoring the fact that the majority of football talent is in the south. It's just recently (1990s) that all of these southern universities have started reaching their full athletic potential. Large part of that is due to money and economies of the south taking off. Notre Dame hasn't won a national title since 1988. The west coast teams have nearly dissolved. The midwest conference stays alive through their love of football, but they are kept afloat by the 2 programs with enough money and tradition to play sec ball. The southern part of the ACC is competent, the other teams are basketball and/or academic schools just along for the ride.
You love the narrative that Brian Kelly is bad, but he's won 9 or 10 games in each of his 3 seasons. He's also brought an SECw title and a heisman trophy. This season is by far his most deep and talented roster. The Saban domino has also finlly fallen, that is a huge help. I'd say Georgia, Texas, LSU, and Alabama are in the same tier to start this season, and if it does end that way, at least 3 of those teams will likely make the playoff. Just wait for november, you'll see.

Holding practice outside on a windy day is hardly murder. It was a terrible tragedy, but it was an accident. Hope you feel good about yourself for slandering another person because he is coaching a team that is not yours.

He’s lost every BCS, NY6, CFP, Conference or National Championship game he’s ever played in by an average of 20 points.
Does that answer your question?

No, as I stated in the post, his teams were severely outmatched in those games due to the recruiting constraints at ND at the time.

He hasn't won a title and got embarrassed by Alabama in the title game that he made.
