Curious if we intended to do this on the 10 year anniversary and Covid fricked it up. Weird time to decide to finally do it.

True, though I guess 15 year anniversary also is reasonable if the 10 year couldn't work.

Not a fan of retiring numbers. I would rather retire the jersey. If anyone deserves it though its him.

My assumption is they mean like where some places make a certain #/jersey a special honor. So, like the team would have to vote for someone to wear #2 and it's a special honor each year. Can't remember what # LSU does but they have one or two like that.

Retiring the jersey is an honor, but mostly ceremonial. Maybe hang the jersey up somewhere, but players can still wear the number. Retiring the number means no one else can wear it. I do like the idea of special/earned numbers though.
