Texas has all those appearances and barely anything to show for it
One natty in 54 years

That first row is the bonafide blue bloods of CFB.

Notre Dame with 26 and last time they ended the season #1 was 1988
Texas with 15 appearances and only one time in the last 55 years did they finish #1.
Doesn’t matter if you appear for the date if you can’t close the deal.

And only four teams in the history of the AP football poll have gone wire to wire at #1
Before Preseason Polls (pre-1950)
1943 Notre Dame
1945 Army
With Preseason Polls (1950-present)
1999 Florida State
2004 USC

And Auburn has one title in the last 68 years compared to Texas’ 4?
Auburn National Championships - 1913, 1914, 1957, 1983, 1993, 2004, 2010.
Hope this helps

You know you’re desperate when you have to fabricate them
Will they ever have a winning record again?

Surely Texas didn’t come to your small stadium and kick your arse that very season, right? Right???

Arch probably won’t even make the playoffs with that weak SEC schedule.

So… the SEC not some incredible week in, week out grind that everyone screamed at Texas fans ad nauseam before they joined?
Damn. Lots of downvotes but nobody could reply. Guess the sec really isn’t as tough as yall said it was

You can’t claim a championship that you didn’t win, yet play in.. that’s like UCF claiming it when they beat you guys in the peach bowl

I’m an LSU Fan, not a Brian Kelly Fan.
With that being said, of course I want Kelly to do well, because that means my team is doing well. Some of you act like we fans had a hand in hiring the coach and we “chose” him. Guess what? We didn’t. I would have chosen someone a lot younger personally. But… he is our coach and I support him as long as he’s here.

interesting that LSU has only appeared at #1 5 times, yet they have won 4 titles, and the one they lost, they still appeared in the championship game. Meanwhile, Texas has appeared 15 times, and only won once. It sounds like Texas is usually overrated, and LSU only gets that #1 label when it's deserved.

You’re natty to #1 ratio is proof the AP should be abolished.

Georgia Tech really should've been #1 in the AP poll in 1990 over Colorado. If only we had championship games back then.
