. . . we read about someone's idea to fix what is wrong with college football, NIL, the portal, the playoffs, conference alignment/expansion etc, etc, etc.but these ideas only come from people in the media or coaches but never, not ever do the ideas originate or even appear to be acknowledged by the handful of movers and shakers who actually COULD fix what is wrong with college football?
What's the deal?
Are all of the old rich white guys who run the sport such numnutz they are unable to comprehend what they see or hear?
Or is it they are so deep into it they either know no matter what they do, no matter how much sense an idea might make there is nothing, NO POWER ON EARTH that can fix college football or worse, they don't WANT to fix college football.
Things are not the way they are because they've always been this way, things changed so why for the love of everything we hold dear can they not be changed FOR THE BETTER?

People struggle to govern themselves. Selfishness and unintended consequences are usually the end result.
It's in all the history books.

Meanwhile Bryce Harper is cussing out the MLB commish for mentioning the words “salary cap” and is being seen as a hero standing up to pay cuts.

Joke is on you. These nobodies are grabbing for the cash while you whine about the game getting better.

Self-interest and unintended consequences don't play favorites. No one has ever been able to corner the market on foolishness. And the higher you get up the food chain, the more dire it becomes. Bryce Harper is just playing the same game.

Oh I get it, college sports are a microcosm of society in general and the backroom boys who run things just as in government fix things to keep themselves in power while enriching themselves in the process.
I used to bitch about the guys who ran the bowl games who managed to convince everyone that the per team payouts were huge, all the while forgetting to mention the expense to the participants for the right to play in thei precious bowl extravaganza.
Now that we have a playoff the money to be skimmed has grown exponentially thanks to ESPN and we are seeing the evolution of college football into a professional exercise that in practice looks less like an amateur sport and more like the WWE.
