Who will win the SEC?

It seems the favorites keep changing between Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. I'm picking Georgia if they have a QB. Smart recruits and develops talent and always has his team at or near the top.

If Georgia can run the ball, they will win the SEC. If they struggle, it’s wide open.

No one's talking about LSU? I mean our QB's actually more developed and proven than those for the aforementioned and LSU did a tremendous job securing top-end talent from the portal for their WR room, defensive line and secondary, not to mention to the 2 interior players they expect to start on the offensive line
I get it, the national media hates LSU for some retarded reason but if LSU hits this year, the payoff will be massive

LSU is going to be good. Auburn, believe it or not, is sitting on the most talent that Freeze has had there (despite next year's recruiting class being in the gutter). Ole Miss, if they have a replacement for Dart. Napier is similar situation to Freeze at Florida, Lagway is a good QB but has been injury prone, let's see if he can make it through a season. I'm not sold on Tennessee until I see their new QB. But if he's worth a shite, they've got a shot.
And UGA's question marks are as stated already- will the OL be able to open holes for the running backs? What is Gunner Stockton's ceiling? Will the wide receivers be able to hold onto the ball this year? I'm not worried about the defense. It's going to be good. The only question is how good. If we don't win the SEC, I can assure it won't be because of the defense.

My money is on Bama. Rationale: They own us and we own Texas. Until this cycle changes that's who my bet is on.

Per the SECrant, Alabama will be lucky to go 7-5. So they can’t possibly win it. Not even a chance.

top-end talent from the portal
Yeah, but all of the big boys got top end talent from the portal. And the thing is, the elite (UGA, Bama, Ohio st, Texas and a couple of others) already recruit top talent the old traditional way, so they don't have to go out and try to get an entire team from the portal, like some do. They just get the 'icing-on-the-cake' type players to make an already talent rich team even richer.
Case in point with UGA, we already had a pretty solid looking WR room returning, but Kirby got USC's (Zachariah Branch) and Texas A&M's (Noah Thomas) best WRs to make a strong group stronger.

Ok but LSU’s portal class was ranked no. 1 by 247 and no. 2 by On3

So does LSU, they’ve gathered top 10 classes every single season BK’s been there therefore that means LSU’s arsenal for 2025 is stacked lol also you included Ohio State in the mix who spent $20 million in the portal to build their 2024 title team lmaooooo

That's a load of crap, we spent $5.5 million on last year's team

Not Ohio st
True. The question could have been "Who will win the Big 10?" and your answer would be correct.

LSU football will enter the 2024 season with a roster budget set between $14 million and $17 million, head coach Brian Kelly told Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.

Also we just landed Geralds over Oregon, Ohio State, etc. our DLine for the next few years will be reminiscent of 2010-12 peak LSU pre-Burrow

He's talking about the total roster "cost". For instance, an NIL payment made to Harold Perkins in 2022 would count as part of that number (it ended up being closer to $12 million for 2022, 2023, and 2024 combined).
They didn't spend $14-17 million in the offseason prior to 2024, which is the time period where it was rumored that Ohio State spent $20 million and Ole Miss spent around $13 million.
That substantially increased this offseason, somewhat buoyed by the loss of Bryce Underwood, Kelly estimates that they have around $26 million invested in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 teams at this point. They're probably closer to that $20 million number this offseason.
I would guess that LSU has roughly spent 3-4x more this offseason than they did last offseason.
