Posted this on the MSB, but thought the SEC Rant would like to see aas well. Not saying this is good or bad, I just always think it's interesting to see confirmed numbers on this type of stuff.

They wouldn't provide exact numbers beside splitting it up by gender.

The 2024-25 figure is up from a combined $19.4 million in 2023-24 when A&M men’s athletes received a combined $18.9 million and women’s athletes received a combined $528,184.86. In 2022-23, A&M athletes received a combined $6.1 million with men getting $6.0 million and women getting 154,721. In the first year NIL was legal, A&M athletes received a combined $3.0 million with $2.9 million going to men’s athletes and $100,299 going to women’s athletes.

How do they get around Title IX when the money starts flowing directly from the schools to the athletes?

This is totally different from the rev-share that is being implemented. The is straight NIL compensation.

Really goes to show you that throwing money around can’t buy you a winning, championship culture.

What does your gut tell you?

Do you find your overall interest in college sports increasing, or gradually waning?

Idk. I don't follow recruiting or anything as much anymore. But my excitement for the season and games has not decreased at all.

All of that money thrown around to keep their baseball team intact, just to be sent into the offseason by Daddy LSU before even making the postseason

Did that money buy them any championships?

It’s honestly astounding how much money they throw around just to go 8-4 every year

To be fair, we didn't spend all that money on going 8-4 in football. We spent a nice chunk of that sum keeping our 2024 baseball roster together so that we could miss the NCAA tournament.

This board is like a woman on a period. Either Aggies are broke or Aggies burning money.

Too much to ask the posters to make up their mind.

Op, thank you for your interest in Aggie sports!

You're welcome. I wish other schools were this open about their NIL compensation. I'd be very interested in all of them.
