Lost only to UF by 2, and UT by 3.
Went on to beat OSU in the Citrus but only by 7.
Obvious crazy year in college football with Alabama fielding what we thought was the best defense of all time and crushed Miami in the Sugar Bowl. Florida lost to MSU AND bad to FSU before the SECCG.
Still had:
Eric Zeier
Andre Hastings
Garrison Hearst
Hearst was amazing.
Still didn’t dominate a 5-5 Auburn team, but handled GT.
Almost every program had a team that you wished it had gone differently. Was 1992 it for you older Uga fans? Because the rest of the 90s didn’t go as well as the early 2000s.

Before my time so I looked up the schedule and it really seems like that was a decent team that only won one regular season game against a team with a winning record.

LSU fan wanting to talk to Georgia fans about the 90's?

I was 10 years old in 1992. The Ray Goff years were generally awful. This season was a bright spot but still offered its moments of disappointment. Zeier and Hearst were something else though. Hearst’s son is a walk on RB on the team now. Gannon Hearst.

Was that the game where UGA had multiple TD passes negated by penalties?

94 was my favorite Bama-UGA game. Barker and Zier were both on fire that night.

Before the game a banner plane circled Sanford Stadium. It read, "Go Dawgs! I'm here. - Lewis Grizzard" He had passed away in Marh of that year. The banner plane was stipulated in his will.
The Dawgs were favored. Their fans were mouthy and barking before the game, as usual. "That Dawg will bite you..."
Our starting QB, Jerry Colquitt had been injured against UCLA. MLB Hall of Famer, Todd Helton, stepped in as the starter.
James "Little Man" Stewart torched UGA's arse. He rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries, leading Tennessee to a 41-23 victory.
I was barking at the Dawgs as they left early in the 4th quarter. I was telling them, "that Bluetick Hound bites back."
It was at this moment all the red in the stadium packed up and left.

The 90s was a rough decade for UGA football but that was a good team.
Even if they managed to win one of the games vs UT or UF, I don’t think they would’ve pulled off an upset over Bama.
ETA: the closest team I can think of in comparison is 2005 which also lost 2 regular season games by 5 combined points.

If I can give you some notes, whiskey:
1. I only write it once a post
2. It's "his name is NICO" you have to capitalize the whole thing

quote:”didnt dominate” = bailed out by the refs letting the clock run out by not stopping play to establish possession on a fumble on the goalline
Still didn’t dominate a 5-5 Auburn team
as pissed off as i was at that, i felt retribution nine years later when almost the same thing happened in reverse, only due to a Mark Richt Moment instead of a fumble:

And that uga has been replaced 47 times since then because that dog genetically can barely breathe. They literally have to lay him on a bag of ice and pray he doesn't die during broadcast.

Probably 2002 for me. Lost to UF with Shockley injured.
