Well, for comparison:
College Football National Championship Game:
22.1 million viewers
Men's Basketball National Championship Game:
18.1 million viewers
Women's Basketball National Championship Game:
8.5 million viewers
Softball National Championship Series:
2.2 million viewers with a peak of 3.9 million
So three sports had a LOT more (including women's basketball), and softball's world series had a significantly higher peak than the baseball CWS (3.9 million to 3 million).

How many groundhog threads are going to rehash the same argument with the same posts.

Baseball is segmented in its popularity
But
Where it matters, it’s gaining shares yearly and that’s in the SEC

So a bit more than half the population of LA. Seems about right.

Wow. College baseball is about on par with women’s softball.
Congrats!
Congrats!

The only thing worse than “no one cares about baseball threads”
Are people posting “look at this, thought no one cared about baseball”
You played yourself. This is not an impressive number.

The final game of the CWS wasn’t even the most watched sports event of last Sunday. The final round of the PGA Traveler’s had 3.5 million viewers, around 700,000 more than watched LSU/Coastal.
THAT is how popular college baseball is. The sixth highest rated and most watched CWS game of all time got trounced by a relatively inconsequential golf tournament.

Please put it to rest. Big 2 sports and everyone else. That's it.

Where are all these softball fans? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen LSU softball on in a bar or restaurant

I never said that. Baseball is my favorite sport but I’m not melting down about it. All I can hope is Bama continues to get better and find their way to Omaha.

Hey guys,
Please give LSU fans the attention they seek. Otherwise they will just keep starting these threads. This is about the 20th thread on this.

You do realize that 2.5 million viewers means the most watched college baseball series of all time gained the interest of less than 1% of the American population despite airing on ABC on a weekend?
If Louisiana people care so much about amateur baseball 4 levels removed from the big leagues, then go enjoy yourselves. But this attempt at convincing the other 99% of the population that it matters just as much as football or March Madness is pathetic. I don’t remember Mississippi people giving a damn about what anyone else thought.
