I found the Coastal Carolina’s coaching staff arguing balls and strikes funny after watching stories about how their catcher stole strikes all year

their catcher

He was to this CWS what wake’s pitching lab was in 2023. They never shut the frick up about it. He missed like 5 balls in the 2 games we played them. Dude was trying to frame shite that was breaking in the dirt or running a foot out of the zone. He seemed like a decent player but holy shite he didn’t look like a 1st round pick.

The entire program cracked under the pressure of playing a big boy program in the finals.

2025 is the easiest one LSU will ever win.

Coastal and Arkansas aren’t exactly a murderers row of college baseball programs.

Arkansas is one the premier programs in the country. Beating them that many times in one season is extremely difficult. That wasn't easy at all.

They wouldn't stop slobbering over him and he was bad to average.

I disagree. You were playing some of your best baseball at the most important time, especially your pitching and defense.

What makes it even funnier is the umpire did not miss 3 pitches when he was arguing it.

The umpire did a very good job calling fairly and not letting CC’s catcher steal strikes.

Arkansas was a damn good team. LSU just had their number.

Coastal was talented, but I don’t think they were close to the 2nd best team.
They definitely weren’t ready for the big time

He had a pretty big zone. Especially on curveballs at the top of the zone. He got less consistent as the game went on, but not egregiously bad.

My thought was you could have put SEMO, K State, TCU, NC State, Little Rock, anyone in an LSU jersey that night and Arkansas’ 1B would have still chased a grounder to 2nd, the SS would have taken the lead runner at 3rd with 1 out in a 2 run game, the LF would have still taken a flyball off the forehead and the 2B would have still been 5 ft nothing on a soft liner over his head.

He missed the heck out of the pitch on the throw down that started. Camera showed was 3"s inside off the plate and low.

Yeh it happens. Most coaches don't go incredible hulk over it.

How responsible do you hold him for his own actions?

Yeah, saying it was "easy" diminishes the accomplishment, and what LSU did definitely wasn't easy.

Game 1 was high tension, Arkansas was right there the whole way.

Game 2 against UCLA seemed more relaxed- then we had the weather delay, which screwed us out of the pitching advantage we'd earned. Had to burn Evans to finish that off.

Game 3 against Arkansas- it wasn't elimination for LSU, but we had to go deeper into the bullpen because of Game 2. That game was also tight as nails, and it felt like Arkansas was going to take it until the 9th.

Finals Game 1, we won 1-0. Got that early run, but it felt like Anderson was off his rhythm. Season high walks, multiple hit batters, they had guys on every inning. But Anderson was a fricking warrior, and went the complete game. We made multiple defensive plays to keep them scoreless.

Finals game 2, yes I think Coastal cracked. I think they were still stunned they'd just been shut out and lost a brilliantly pitched game. When Eyanson picked up where Anderson left off, I think Coastal flinched.
