The Women's College World Series averaged more viewers (1.3M) than the Men's College World Series (1.2M).

Now compare that to 2024:

The 2024 Men's College World Series (MCWS) saw strong viewership, with the finals averaging 2.82 million viewers across ESPN networks. This marked the second-most watched MCWS finals in ESPN's history according to Front Office Sports. Game 3 of the finals drew 3.34 million viewers, making it the most-watched baseball game of the year, including both college and MLB.

Say what you want, but the Vols style of plays is good for college baseball!

Because watching LSU win #8 is nothing new. Now watching Tenner win the only one they ever will last year had the hillbillies installing TV's in every roon of their house to not miss the only time they'd ever get close.

Losers can't accept losing.

The Vols are used to this.

June 24 - LSU not only added to its resume as a college baseball power, the program also continued to be a solid television viewing draw with ratings numbers for the Men's College World Series released Monday.
LSU's championship series against Coastal Carolina at Omaha, Neb., was the most-watched two-game sweep in the 10 occurrences of the best-of-three format, according to Sports Media Watch.
The two games averaged 2.5-million viewers on ESPN, slightly down from an average of 2.82-million viewers for last year's three-game series between Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Sunday's Game 2, when LSU earned a 5-3 victory, had an average of 2.8-million viewers, slightly behind last season's Game 2 that averaged 2.92 million in a contest that was not a clincher.
The 2025 Men's College World Series final series ranked No. 4 in viewership since the best-of-three series started in 2003. LSU has been involved in three of the top four final series in that span with the 2023 title over Florida ranked as the most watched with an average of 2.86-million viewers.

LSU played Coastal Carolina from the Sun Belt. Tennessee played one of the largest schools in the country

The LSU/Florida game 3 from 2023 is still the most watched college baseball game of all time

So our real issue with comparison to last year is we were good enough not to require a decisive game 3 which would have raised the average even higher

Also smaller opposing fanbase and the Iran strike news was breaking opposite game 1. Multiple sporting events opposite game 2.

This year’s MCWS Final ranks as the fourth-most watched in the best-of-three era. LSU has played in three of the top four, with the Tigers’ 2023 win over Florida (2.86M) and 2009 win over Texas (2.76M) ranking first and third respectively. (Last year’s series, which ranks second, is the lone exception.)

It helps that ESPN is willing to advertise softball for some reason.

There's other more subtle things that happen too. The NCAA website and SEC website both do it. If you just go to the main website and click on their scoreboard, the first thing that always pops up is always a womens sport, whether it be softball/baseball or women's basketball/mens basketball.

I also couldn’t even imagine the viewership numbers if LSU played Texas A&M in a CWS final.

All melting aside, this is not fair to college baseball. Why? Because MLB assures that all US citizens will be SICK of baseball. It's fortunate that anyone watches it at the college level.

Softball is something different, so it gets more interest.

I think professional women's softball could make a better go of it than WNBA honestly.

EDIT - Wait a minute, there is professional women's softball isn't there? I'm an idiot.
