That was one heck of a baseball game played by the best two teams in the country. And it isn’t close. A lot of pressure on all those kids. Mistakes were made but heck it’s going to happen. Well coached and talented. It was worth watching.

I don’t expect Coastal to even come close to LSU. They haven’t played all that talent this year. The CWS was decided tonight.

100 % agree. I felt like lsu has won it tonight but CC is eager to prove the country wrong

No one says Coastal is an average team. But it to win it all you have to have the full package steamrolling. Hitting, pitching and fielding. Not to mention game day coaching.

As an LSU fan my heart actually hurt for the arkansas kids who made costly errors at the end. Don't get me wrong, I was happy for the win but if you are human you had to feel kinda sad for those young men.

It was a bit painful to watch. Because the game should’ve ended with a double play. For some reason I knew that decision would cost them the game. But just like any sport one play doesn’t win or lose a game.

Just two heavyweights going at it. I’m just pissed I can’t see them play one more night.

I felt the same way, but LSU had 3 errors that aided Arkansas grabbing the lead. I’m glad that it wasn’t our players that had me feeling that way. The game would have likely been over if Aloy (spelling?) goes to 2nd instead of 3rd for the force out. That’s on DVH for not communicating better and having them prepared for that play. He has to know that the double play ends the game.

We have Anderson and Eyanson rested and ready. No excuses.

If Coastal beats us, they are better. Plain and simple.

It was an entertaining game but it wasn’t great baseball like the wake forest semi was last year. Lots of mistakes for both sides. Arkansas’ were just worse lol

Coastal will be a tough out. You don’t win that many games in a row and not have a solid club. Lots of seniors on it

Coastal swept Auburn at Auburn

We got swept at Auburn

They can play and they are battle tested.

They have played a very tough schedule, UNC, Clemson, Bama, USM, and many other really good teams

All I know is they have 3 tall starting pitchers who throw hard.

They also have batters who are tough outs.

I don’t think it is a fluke that Coastal is here.

Arkansas one of the two best teams? Not really.
You don’t expect CC to come close to LSU?
They haven’t been tested?

You may not be biased, but you certainly haven’t watched a lot of baseball this season. My friend, … I hope you enjoy the taste of crow.

You don't win 23 games in a row and make the MCWS game without being an exceptional team. They beat some really good teams along the way as well.

That being said, not having to play today and saving our ace pitchers was huge. Having Anderson and Eyanson rested and ready is a game changer for us. For that reason, I like our chances.

26 in a row is hard to do. They are plenty battle tested and won’t be a layup

Beat

Clemson
NC State
Auburn
Oregon St
Louisville
Arizona

yep, coastal is going to be a really tough series. I do think LSU and Arky 2 best teams in College baseball and were for a lot of the year.

but anyone that thinks coastal isnt going to be close to LSU

i mean i hope they are right, but nothing indicates they are

now as far as Arky goes, it was a great game played by two heavyweights in the sport. As a father, i feel for those kids big time....as an LSU fan...I say thank you, point and laugh. But I though about it a lot last night getting in bed, its heartbreaking for those kids and families and overall they played their asses off and had a ton of pressure on them and just didnt handle it well.

Agree. I despise the piggies (swamprats, too) as much as the next guy, but that was really painful to watch.

State easily defeated the team that went into regionals with the longest win streak in the nation (Northeastern). At that time, they had won 24 straight and that was a very mediocre state team. I expect more of a challenge from coastal, but lsu should win it in 2.
