Sellers offered 8 Million to Transfer

Some quotes from the article:

“We didn’t come here to make money,” Norris Sellers said in The Athletic article. “We came here to get our education, play ball, and with schools calling, we’re not gonna jump ship because they’re offering more than what we’re getting. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Norris Sellers did not name the school that offered his son $8 million, which was contingent on Sellers (who is draft-eligible after this season) playing two more years in college.

I wonder which school made the offer...

Tennessee seems like a good guess.

No fricking way anyone offered him 8mil. The South Carolina roster isn’t worth that.

That amount wouldn't surprise me, probably his market value.

Who gives a frick?

It could be a lie to make the kid and family appear virtuous and bolster his credibility as a person for future draft consideration.

Even if it's true, it's meh...No one blinks at it anymore.

Welcome to modern college athletics bruh.

This is something I often wonder if kids consider. You are excelling in your current system under your current coach. There is no guarantee that you will have the same success at your next stop. If the NFL is the goal, why would you interupt your development and risk not having the same success over chump change compared to what you could make in the NFL.

It was contingent on two more years of play, idiot. It's not that farfetched in today's college football world.

I really hope he didn’t turn down $8 mil to play on a 6-6 team

I dont see how it can be Tennessee. I don't think players could transfer within the conference at the time we would've needed a QB. It was probably Miami before they got Carson Beck. or Texas Tech

Probably was Auburn's #1 target, before pivoting to Arnold.

I'm sure LSU is glad the refs were on their side and Sellers got injured against them last year.

Yall complain about the wrong call. Your players did commit penalties on the interceptions. The real issue is the phantom OPI or whatever was called on the bomb late in the game that would have sealed it for yall.

But yes the calls and injury were fortunate.

Yeah, that makes more sense. I didn't really pay attention to the timing of it.

The rumor I'd heard around his hometown was Oregon came calling. No idea if it's true or not, but they've definitely got the money.

Oregon had better start offering Nike contracts.

Wouldn't be surprised. Ellis Johnson swore up and down that Auburn went after him.
