I will admit I'm completely out of touch this off season. Not sure why I disconnected, but I did. Now playing catch up....

Who the heck will be our starting QB?

Win / Loss Predictions ?

We travel to a couple away games a year and I'm targeting Auburn. I was targeting OU as well, but the ticket price is double Auburn and Vandy ticket prices. Why in the heck would I pay that with the other options available?

I personally have no idea but I'll bet you'll see all the prognosticators put us at 6-6 or 7-5. We lost a QB, WR, OL and most of our road games are against teams we barely beat at home.

Honestly not sure. The schedule sets up pretty nicely, but QB OL and other question marks and holes needing to be filled. There’s a lot of “ifs” this season that could mean a great year, or a bit of a decline.

If the transfers all play at a high level
If the QB is better than expected
If the WR and RB positions play at a high level
If the D transfers gel
If we protect home field

Etc

Here's how it's gonna shake down for the first 10 games. We'll be 5-0 coming into the Bama game. We'll, rightfully, put a lot into this game, but lose at the end. The hangover will travel with us to Auburn the following week, resulting in back-to-back losses to the Alabama schools.
However, we will rally and win the next 3 weeks, giving us an 8-2 record heading to Norman. That's where my prediction stops. I think Oklahoma will be good this year, but not sure how good yet, but it's possible that the winner of our Nov 22nd showdown will be a playoff team.

+1 a Bowl Game - bowl games are always a toss up.

Let's say 8 wins as a baseline.

I have no prediction for the win/loss record but there are positives for this year.

Most preseason people put us middle of the pack.

The analyst Cole Kubilec had a video rating sec defenses. He placed Missouri as second best. So defense should be good.

On Offense Qb is the big question. We will find out how Sam Horn does in the baseball draft next month. Beau Pribula looked good in the second half of the Penn State/Wisconsin game last year. Check him out on Youtube. The full game is on there. I didn't see any "oh he sucks" comments from Penn State fans when he transferred. They were all positive which I think says something.

Luther and Theo are gone. We have good WR still but who will become a star? I remember a smart play from Theo in the Oklahoma game when he reached out and batted down a pass he knew he could not catch but was going to be a sure interception. Are the current receivers experienced enough to do that?

We have been spoiled with good offensive tackle play the last two years but both of them are gone. Hopefully we are not reminded of what happens when offensive tackles cannot handle edge rushers.
