If a team cannot afford that, then they need to drop out.

People complaining they are losing interest in the game because athletes are now receiving money out in the open.

I think the sloppiness and quality of play overall is far more compelling reason to be losing interest in the game

20 millions is not enough to pay one star player in nfl.
The college players are under paid badly.
College sports should establish their own clubs and be independent from its associated schools.
So that players won't be enslaved and share their revenue.

How much do D-league players get paid compared to their NBA counterparts?

“ College sports should establish their own clubs and be independent from its associated schools”

So you want college football to no longer be associated with college?

No doubt the players generate more than 20 million. Hopefully NIL will help make up for it.

I want a college to be college, like the IVY schools, no sport scholarships and focus on academics.

I could care less if they got paid. I want the transfer portal shut down.

Dude, that horse left the barn in the 1930s! But, I agree with your general sentiment.

College football had something awesome and turned it into a watered down version of an already watered down bland product.

You just contradicted yourself 4 times in the same sentence. I think that's a record.

The way to do that is to separate football from the University and offer tuition to the University as part of the package. The player can go to school, take the tuition deferred to a later date, or take the tuition money in cash.

This would allow a guy to play only football if he wants, go to school and play football if he wants, go part time if he wants, or go to school after he finishes football.

Meanwhile, if he flunks out... he can still play football... he just can't get any more money for tuition. Just get the balance in cash.

The college FB arms race has changed from facilities and other amenities to cash money. Some of the dunces who say they "ain't come to skool for going to class - nothing but football", and everybody has a few, are an embarassment.

The free cost of the degree, including room and board, medical, etc., is not really valued by too many of the 90%~ of the players who won't even sniff the NFL. The other 9-10 % are out in 4 years or less with little to show except excessive spending based on more money than they had growing up. The other 1% are success stories. Yay for them.

Future College Gameday sob stories will be a dime a dozen if they feature guys who got a lot of money and pissed it away. I would not be surprised to see audiences dwindle at the stadiums and on TV as the cost of the game prices out the working customers. We shall see.
