It’s obvious they are having a great season, no denying it. But with the great season, could it be they are just taking advantage of an easy schedule the SEC gave them their first year in the SEC?
I know they have beat a few top 5 teams, but they played them at home.
Series vs ranked teams:
#2 LSU- W
#8 Auburn- W
#3 UGA- W
Home Series left:
Florida
Texas A&M
SEC series on the road:
UK- W
Mizzou- W
Miss State- W
Road Series left:
@ #2 Arkansas
@ #18 Oklahoma
When was the last time a top team from the SEC hasn’t played a ranked series on the road half way through the season?

Texas was simply among the elite of the SEC immediately after entrance into the conference. Last team to represent the SEC in the playoffs. It would have made no difference if you were to swap Kentucky for Alabama, that would have probably been a more favorable matchup. Same goes for baseball, the pitching staff is neutering SEC lineups. They got a great challenge this weekend. I know you boys wanted Texas to be “humbled” but Texas/OU have always been capable of competing anywhere. OUs athletic program is going through a rough patch, but they’ll be back.

Should we have lost a few more games to make our schedule seem harder?

We’re 9-1 against top 10 teams and have played a harder schedule than Tennessee so far.

They play on the road at Arkansas. That is their only top 5 road series.
You may argue that is too easy. I say it cuts both ways.
If they win the series at Arky, you can’t argue with it. That’s all they can do.
If they lose the series at Arky, then they lost their only chance to prove they are battle tested on the road.
Most teams get multiple chances prove that.

Before the season: “The SEC is about to run a train on Texas. It’s a gauntlet from top to bottom.”
Now after Texas is in first place: “Only top 5 road victories count”

That’s reality. Take it or leave it. Doesn’t matter to me.
Just win that series and the doubters will have no choice but be quieted down.

Texas counts success at baseball as winning in Omaha. aggy wants to crow about winning a series on the road like they get some kind of a trophy for their Hall ofOmaha nonChampions for it. We play the teams on the schedule and consider it just one step toward the goal. I’m sure aggy will have fun watching the horns in Omaha from their futons

This is the same arguments from the football season. Texas really has the SEC jacked up. When Oklahoma resolves their Venerables situation things will really get crazy.
Texas may destroy this Conference yet. aggy tried to warn yall.

I'm sure we will hit a rough patch soon, but the team is playing very confident right now.
